Care home staff clock up over 27,000 minutes of movement in charity ride
Staff at a North Yorkshire care home have clocked over 27,000 minutes of movement in a charity challenge. The efforts by workers at Mount Vale Care Home in Northallerton were part of a wider challenge organised by Barchester Healthcare, which saw staff from various care homes and hospitals cycle over 225 miles from Dumfries to Cheshire. The aim was to raise funds for Barchester's Charitable Foundation, which supports older people and adults with disabilities or mental health problems. Mount Vale staff and residents participated by using exercise bikes within the home, reaching an impressive 157 miles in just four days. This achievement was part of Barchester's 'Get Moving Week,' during which a variety of physical activities, such as yoga and a walk at Easby Abbey, were organised.
