Two arrested in Morgan City in connection to murder of Winn Parish man

MORGAN CITY, La. () — Two individuals were arrested in Morgan City in connection to a murder of a Winn Parish man that occurred on April 6, authorities said. Morgan City officials said they found and arrested Christian Campbell, 22, and Amaney Labouve, 19, on April 10, after the pair returned to the area in possession of the stolen vehicle allegedly belonging to the deceased. Officials said Randell Kelley, 55, was found dead in his home in the Brewton Mill community on April 9. Family members discovered his body after being alerted by Kelley's employer that he had not reported to work. Later that evening, Morgan City officials received notifications that a stolen vehicle from Winn Parish was in the area and that the occupants may be involved in a murder investigation. Subscribe Now Today, the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office issued additional warrants for Campbell and Labouve in connection with the murder in Winn Parish. Campbell is facing the following charges: Possession of stolen things $5000 to $25,000 (Fugitive) First-degree murder Attempted first-degree murder Theft of a motor vehicle $5000 to $25,000 Two counts of obstruction of justice Attempted First Degree Murder (Winn Parish Sheriff's Department) Labouve is facing the following charges: Possession of stolen things $5000 to $25,000 (Fugitive) Accessory after the fact to first-degree murder Accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder Failure to report the commission of certain felonies (Winn Parish Sheriff's Department) Campbell and Labouve are currently being held on $1 million bonds and are waiting for transport back to Winn Parish for further court proceedings. BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A GoFundMe was created to pay for the funeral of a man who died in a crash in Baton Rouge. Gemico Ruffin, 28, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on April 6 after his car went over a railing at S. I-110 near Capitol Access and Chippewa Street. According to the GoFundMe's description, the fundraiser was created by Ruffin's mother to raise money for funeral expenses. The fundraiser has a goal of $5,000 and has raised a little over $855 as of April 15. Click here to donate.
