Youth Affairs Minister signs cooperation agreement to launch leadership programme for volunteers
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, signed a cooperation agreement with Abdulrahim Abdulhameed Al Kooheji, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Abdulrahim Al Kooheji Charitable Foundation, and Ahmed Shawqi, CEO of FranklinCovey Education Middle East, to implement the programme 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Volunteers' as a national initiative focused on empowering youth as key drivers of volunteerism and positive community change.
The partnership aims to deliver a series of workshops and training programmes based on the globally recognised 7 Habits of Highly Effective People model. The initiative seeks to equip volunteers with advanced leadership skills, develop innovation, and promote social responsibility. It also forms part of national efforts to position the Kingdom of Bahrain as a leading regional hub for youth empowerment and volunteerism.
Minister Tawfiqi highlighted that the Ministry takes pride in this strategic partnership, which directly supports its vision to prepare a generation of skilled Bahraini youth volunteers capable of contributing effectively to national initiatives. She said that developing socially aware and capable volunteers plays a direct role in shaping a brighter future and strengthening youth engagement in national development.
Al Kooheji noted that it reflects the foundation's vision to support youth and volunteer work. He underscored the foundation's commitment to supporting initiatives that expand opportunities for youth and promote a culture of service and volunteerism.
Shawqi described the initiative as a significant step in empowering young people and enhancing their leadership and volunteer capacities. He underlined the importance of providing youth with practical tools and globally benchmarked training to prepare a proactive and socially engaged generation capable of achieving a sustainable impact.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Volunteers is one of the most prominent international programmes in personal development and leadership. It aims to build well-rounded individuals with strategic thinking, teamwork, and initiative, thereby improving the quality and outcomes of volunteer work across various community sectors.
