BREAKING NEWS Worker impaled on a timber post after horror fall from a roof in upmarket Melbourne suburb
A man has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries after he was impaled on a timber post in a horror workplace accident.
The man, aged in his 30s, reportedly fell from the roof of a building on Irving Road in the exclusive Melbourne suburb of Toorak about 7am on Tuesday.
Fire Rescue Victoria crews performed a high-angled rescue, cutting down the timber post he fell on before placing the man on a flat surface.
He was rushed to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
'Ambulance Victoria responded to calls to an incident in Toorak this morning at around 7:15am,' a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
'A man in his 30s was transported by road to the Alfred Hospital in a critical condition after being treated for upper body injuries.'
WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the incident.
