'The America Party': Conservative activist Scott Presler warns Musk; seeks united Republican front
Scott Presler (Image credits: X @ScottPresler) Conservative activist Scott Presler made a public appeal to Elon Musk on Saturday via X, urging the billionaire to drop any plans for a third party and instead throw his support behind a populist, pro-Trump Republican movement. In a post on X, Musk said that a new party, The America Party, is needed to represent 'the 80% in the middle,' citing overwhelming support from a poll he conducted asking whether it was time to launch a new political force. This comes in the wake of his public feud with US President Donald Trump . Presler expressed gratitude to Musk for his work on the social media platform and in states like Pennsylvania, but warned that launching a new political party would ultimately benefit Democrats. — ScottPresler (@ScottPresler) Creating another party, especially one that harkens love for America — will only take votes away from Republicans,' Presler wrote. 'This will lead to democrat majorities in the House, Senate, & White House. He noted the challenges faced by long-established third parties like the Libertarians and Greens in gaining full ballot access, despite years of organising. Even with a lot of funding, it takes time & several elections to even have a seat at the table.' he said. Instead, Presler advocated for building a 'populist Republican Party centered on an America first agenda,' pledging to support efforts to primary and defeat GOP incumbents who resist codifying Trump's policies. He concluded the message by saying he had sent Musk his phone number via direct message, adding, "Help us." Under which listed several conservative electoral reforms he believes Musk could help champion, including removing inactive voters from voter rolls, restoring in-person voting in Oregon, closing primaries to prevent Democrats from influencing GOP nominations and more. On Friday, Presler visited the greater Harrisburg area for the Pennsylvania Republican Party's annual summer meeting, where he led a training session on strengthening the GOP's voter registration efforts in the state. He emphasised the need to boost turnout for this year's statewide judicial races. Presler, founder of Early Vote Action, relocated to Beaver County ahead of the 2024 election to help register Republican voters. His efforts have been widely credited with contributing to Donald Trump's victory in Pennsylvania by over 120,000 votes last November.

Elon Musk Floats 'America Party' After Viral Poll Finds 80% Want New Political Party
Encouraged by the results of a social media poll, billionaire Elon Musk floated a name for what he described as a "needed" new political party: "The America Party." During Thursday's bombshell fallout between President Donald Trump and the former "first buddy," Musk polled followers on his social media platform. Five and a half million voters participated, with 80.4% voting yes, it is "time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle." Musk hailed the result as a sign from the universe. "The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle!" Musk wrote Friday afternoon. "And exactly 80% of people agree 😂 This is fate." Minutes later, he followed up with a potential name: "The America Party." The adversarial turn in Musk's relationship with the president was precipitated by his disapproval of Republican's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a roughly 1,100 page piece of legislation that is projected to add trillions to the national debt over the next ten years. Within a week of stepping away from his role in the White House at DOGE, Musk began publicly railing against the bill. On Thursday, Trump responded to Musk's complaints, accusing him of developing "Trump Derangement Syndrome" upon leaving the White House. "People leave my administration... and they wake up in the morning and the glamor's gone, the whole world is different, and they become hostile," Trump told press. The remarks spurred a flurry of posts by both men on their respective social platforms, including calls from Musk to impeach Trump and to form a new political party. Musk's vision for his role in "The America Party" is unknown. Because Musk was born in South Africa and is not a naturally born U.S. citizen, the constitution bars him from serving as president, but does not negate the possibility of holding other elected positions. He may not have interest in elected office anyway, as he has already demonstrated a capacity to wield political power through financial contributions and his social media platform, X, which hosts over 600 million users a month. No official announcement or organizational filing has followed the post so far, but the tech CEO seems resistant to leaving the political spotlight. Whether "The America Party" becomes a serious political force or stays the stuff of memes remains to be seen. Originally published on Latin Times

Musk Floats Idea of Starting New Rival Political Party—and Even Names It—Amid Trump Feud
In an escalation of Elon Musk's fractured relationship with President Donald Trump and his Republican allies, the Tesla CEO has floated the idea of starting a new political party to rival the two-party system. Musk conducted a poll via his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), asking his 220 million followers: 'Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?' The public results show that around 80% of respondents voted yes. 'The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle!' Musk said, reacting to the results of his Thursday, June 5, poll. 'And exactly 80% of people agree…This is Fate.' On Friday, Musk shared a potential name: " The America Party." The moniker echoes that of his super political action committee (PAC), America PAC, which was founded in 2024 to support Trump's efforts to return to the White House. The super PAC reportedly spent around $200 million to help elect Trump. Musk's donations made him Trump's largest, and most prominent, donor in the 2024 election. During the 2022 midterm elections, Musk said he intended to vote Republican, and that later developed into him becoming Trump's close ally, which was cemented when the President positioned him as lead of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a role he held until recently. However, Trump and Musk have now had an explosive fall-out, which has played out in the public arena via social media over the past few days. It started with Musk's disapproval over Trump's 'Big, Beautiful Bill,' which he called an " abomination" and told his social media followers to 'call your Senator, call your Congressman… kill the bill.' On Thursday, the back-and-forth between the two influential men escalated, with Musk alleging that Trump is listed in the files related to the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. 'That is the real reason they have not been made public,' Musk said. He did not provide evidence pertaining to this and, as of early Saturday morning, the post has been deleted. Musk also, in another since-deleted X post, endorsed a message that said: "Trump should be impeached" and that Vance "should replace him." Trump has argued on his own social media platform, Truth Social, that "Elon was wearing thin" and that he asked the Tesla CEO to leave the White House. Meanwhile, when talking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday night, Trump said he didn't have any plans to speak with Musk. But some lawmakers are convinced that the feud between Trump and Musk will soon thaw, and that the latter's idea for a new political party won't come to fruition. On Friday, Republican Rep. Jimmy Patronis of Florida told NewsNation's Blake Burman: 'Elon Musk is not gonna create a new political party... Trump knows that sometimes you're going to have [a] falling out with those that you trust, you like, that you're friends with. It happens with us in D.C. all the time. Mark my words, about a month from now, these guys will be hanging around again.'

Musk floats ‘The American Party' after Trump tiff
Elon Musk floated a new political party on Friday after falling out with President Trump over the big, beautiful bill. He launched a Thursday poll on the social platform X, which he owns, asking about whether or not the country needed a new faction for political nominees. 'The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle! And exactly 80% of people agree. This is fate,' Musk wrote, citing numbers from his survey . He followed up with a potential name for the group, ' The America Party .' In recent days, Musk has railed against Trump for suggesting the United States increase its national debt by $4 trillion as proposed in the bill. The tech giant said it 'undermines' all the work he did at the Department of Government Efficiency, geared towards reducing government spending. However, Trump said the Tesla CEO was mad over slashes to electric vehicle incentives instead of other clauses in the legislation. 'Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here. … He had no problem with it,' Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. 'All of a sudden he had a problem, and he only developed the problem when he found out that we're going to have to cut the EV mandate, because that's billions and billions of dollars,' he added. Still, Musk, who served as a White House adviser for over 100 days in the Trump administration, backed a call for Trump to be impeached and replaced by his own vice president. The president has publicly questioned Musk's motives for slamming his leadership right after leaving his role in the administration. 'I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It's a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given. If this Bill doesn't pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that. I didn't create this mess, I'm just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!' Musk also credited himself for Republicans' successful trifecta in November capturing the White House, in addition to majorities in the House and Senate. 'Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,' Musk said in a post on his social platform X . 'Such ingratitude,' he added. Florida Republican Rep. Jimmy Patronis cast doubt on Musk's claim of creating 'The America Party' in Friday comments, suggesting the two will be 'hanging around again' shortly. 'Elon Musk is not gonna create a new political party,' Patronis told NewsNation's Blake Burman during an appearance on 'The Hill.' 'Trump knows that sometimes you're going to have falling out with those that you trust, you like, that you're friends with. It happens with us in DC all the time. So again. Mark my words. About a month from now, these guys will be hanging around again. The Hill

"People Have Spoken": Musk After X Poll On New Party Amid Rift With Trump
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has proposed the formation of a new political party in the US amid his ongoing feud with President Donald Trump. Mr Musk conducted a poll on his social media platform X, which showed 80% of the people were in favour of the idea. "The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle! And exactly 80% of people agree. This is fate," he said on X. He later called it "The America Party". Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle? — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 5, 2025 The poll followed soon after Mr Musk claimed personal credit for Mr Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election. Once a prominent informal advisor to Mr Trump, the Tesla CEO accused him of ingratitude, saying, "Without me, [Donald] Trump would have lost the election." The 47th President then responded on Truth Social, saying that he believes the government can save billions of dollars by ending the financial support and contracts it provides to Mr Musk's companies, such as Tesla and SpaceX. "The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts," he said. The feud between Mr Trump and Mr Musk arose after the latter publicly criticised the "Big, Beautiful Bill," a massive government spending plan. The bill didn't go well with Mr Musk as it continued to support oil and gas companies but cut back on benefits for clean energy and electric vehicles, which directly affected his companies like Tesla and SpaceX.
