Did Taylor Swift's dad, Scott trade secrets with Justin Baldoni to keep daughter out of Blake Lively's feud?
Taylor Swift's father, Scott, reportedly took matters into his own hands after the Cruel Summer singer was subpoenaed in Blake Lively's legal battle. According to a report by Daily Mail, the 73-year-old went to Justin Baldoni's legal team with information that the Gossip Girl star was 'threatening' Taylor Swift, allegedly planning to leak their personal messages if the singer failed to publicly support her in the ongoing It Ends With Us drama. Earlier, Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, said they had received the information they were seeking from the Grammy winner and were therefore withdrawing the subpoena sent to Swift, without detailing further.

'Scott Swift did not want his daughter to be dragged into this any further,' an insider told Mail on Saturday. 'He voluntarily gave up this information as part of a deal that would include [Baldoni's team] withdrawing their subpoena for Taylor,' they added. On May 15, it was reported that Blake Lively's lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, reached out to Swift's law firm, Venable, and allegedly demanded that the singer release a statement of support for their client—and if she failed to do so, 'private text messages of a personal nature in Ms. Lively's possession would be released.' The court filing also revealed that Lively asked Swift to delete some messages. At the time, Scott's identity was not released; however, Freedman did mention that someone very close to the singer had given the information. Lively's lawyer, on the other hand, slammed the report as 'categorically false.' He told Page Six, 'We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources and completely untethered from reality.'

A second insider who spoke to Mail backed Scott and insisted that it looked like The Another Simple Favor star 'tried to extort Taylor by threatening to release private information about her so that she would support a narrative that she was not a part of.' Swift now won't be dragged to court after Baldoni bowed out, however, her years-old friendship with Lively has definitely taken a hit. The singer hasn't said a word either in favour or against the actor since the court battle started. Swift was accused of being involved in the creative changes made in Justin Baldoni's directorial, allegedly pressuring him with her influence to follow the changes suggested by Blake Lively. In a series of screenshots, Baldoni claimed how he was invited over for dinner with Lively's 'dragons', two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, 'who were not afraid to make things very difficult for him,' Freedman said in court at the time.
Swift's team later released a statement claiming that their client was not involved in the script rewrite, aside from being connected to the film for her music.. The singer's track My Tears Ricochet was featured in the film. A rep earlier said, 'Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film.'
