‘Iron Man' actress Gwyneth Paltrow is all about clean eating, but still prefers a ‘Little Pasta'
Actress and star Gwyneth Paltrow is all about the 'clean eating' lifestyle and has been following the 'paleo' diet system for the last 2 years extensively; however, recently she dumped the whole concept. Citing that she was getting sick of it, the actress has now eased certain restrictions from her diet plan. Paltrow embraces 'clean eating' and a 'little pasta' in her diet The actress has shared more about her anti-inflammatory diet that she, along with her husband Brad Falchuk , had been following. On one of her recent episodes on the actress' ' Goop Podcast ', she got candid and shared how she is incorporating a little bit of pasta, bread, and cheese into her diet again. The 'Avengers' actress noted that while both she and her husband had opted to follow the paleo diet , she had now grown "a little sick of it". Paltrow claimed that she had remained strict about what she could or could not have and that now she has decided to get back to pasta and "sourdough bread and cheese'. Paltrow's relationship with food The actress also shared insights about her relationship with food altogether on the podcast episode. She shared that "I went into hardcore macrobiotics for a certain time. That was an interesting chapter where I got kind of obsessed with eating very, very healthily." She continued, citing that her father became one of the reasons to follow a healthier diet. She said, "I think that I was trying to heal my dad by proxy, and he just didn't really want anything to do with it." Talking about her obsession with healthy food, she cited, 'I think I was just so amazed that, you know, we had this power in our hands, you know, that if we treated ourselves well and hydrated and ate whole foods, we could just feel so much better. I was sort of intoxicated by that idea, and I still feel that way to this day.' What is the paleo diet? Paleo dieting inherently refers to avoiding processed food items. It refers to going back to the prehistoric diet, i.e., eating what humans must've eaten during the Palaeolithic Era, as cited by the Mayo Clinic. Gwenyth's diet plan has drawn criticism 'The Royal Tenenbaums ' actress' diet has been a topic of discussion for many for the past years. Gwyneth Paltrow says she stopped following a strict paleo diet and is eating bread, cheese, and pasta again
Gwyneth Paltrow is abandoning her strict paleo diet because she's "a little sick of it." Now, the Goop founder is eating sourdough bread, cheese, and pasta again. Paltrow previously drew criticism for her restrictive diet, which included bone broth for lunch. Gwyneth Paltrow, 52, is ditching her strict paleo diet. On the Tuesday episode of her "Goop" podcast, Paltrow spoke about how her relationship with food has changed over the years. "I went into hardcore macrobiotics for a certain time. That was an interesting chapter where I got kind of obsessed with eating very, very healthily," Paltrow said. Part of it was because of her dad's health, she said: "I think that I was really trying to heal my dad by proxy, and he just didn't really want anything to do with it." Her father died in 2002 after battling throat cancer. The Goop founder started thinking more critically about the types of food she was putting into her body. "But the beauty of it, for me, was that I really deepened my connection with food and this whole philosophy around macrobiotics, which is essentially just how they eat in the mountains of Japan," Paltrow said. "So, very local, very seasonal, lots of fish and vegetables, rice, no dairy, no sugar, et cetera." Although the "Shakespeare in Love" star says that she "might have gotten a little didactic about it," all she wanted to do was share her eating philosophy with everyone she knew. "I think I was just so amazed that, you know, we had this power in our hands that if we treated ourselves well, hydrated, and ate whole foods, we could just feel so much better," Paltrow said. She added that she was "intoxicated" by that idea, and still feels the same to this day. "But it's the reason Brad and I became paleo a few years ago now, although I'm a little sick of it, if I'm honest, and getting back into eating some sourdough bread and some cheese," Paltrow said. "There, I said it. A little pasta, after being strict with it for so long." "But again, I think it's a good sort of template, right? Eating foods that are kind of as whole and fresh as possible," she added. A paleo diet is supposed to be based on the way ancient human ancestors ate and includes foods such as lean meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. It emphasizes eating unprocessed foods, and grains and dairy are off limits. Paltrow's comments come months after her company, Goop, told Women's Wear Daily that it was restructuring. The company was moving away from wellness, home, and travel and focusing on beauty, fashion, and food instead. It will double down on its Goop Beauty and Good Clean Goop beauty brands, its G. Label clothing line, and Goop Kitchen. Paltrow has previously detailed her strict diet and wellness routine during an interview for "The Art of Being Well" podcast in 2023. Her restrictive diet, which drew widespread criticism from internet users and dietitians, included coffee in the mornings, bone broth for lunch, and a paleo diet for dinner. A representative for Paltrow did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside regular hours. Read the original article on Business Insider

Gwyneth Paltrow Said She Became "Obsessed" With "Healthy" Eating, So Let's Talk About It
Warning: Discussion of restrictive eating. Gwyneth Paltrow shared her changing attitudes towards her diet after facing huge backlash in previous years. If you cast your mind back to 2023, Gwyneth went viral for her appearance on The Art of Being Well podcast with Dr. Will Cole. She said that her typical diet will consist of coffee, bone broth for lunch, and then an early paleo dinner. Paleo is often dubbed the caveman diet and tries to re-create what humans ate during the Paleolithic era, although there's considerable debate as to what exactly that entails. According to UC Davis Health, paleo has the potential for health risks including heart disease, osteoporosis, rickets, and bone fractures. Her words proved extremely controversial, with one dietician telling BuzzFeed that it "screams disordered eating." In response to the criticism, Gwyneth said, "This was a transparent look at a conversation between me and my doctor. It's not meant to be advice for anybody else. It's really just what has worked for me." It's worth noting that Will Cole is not a medical doctor. Well, in a new episode of The goop Podcast, Gwyneth said that it was her father's throat cancer diagnosis when she was 26 that fundamentally altered how she saw food. Surgery and radiation meant that he had a "very difficult time eating," and she explained, "It was at that time that I started wondering, through trying to see if there was anything we could do to help my father, if there was any kind of intersection between wellness and food." She then started "to research environmental toxins" and "tried to convince him to stop putting sugar in his coffee in the morning" and "to make him go gluten-free, which was a hilarious endeavor." The actor continued, "I got met with comments like, 'I'd rather be dead.'" "So no, I did not convert him to eat a more healthy diet in hopes that it would translate into longevity. But through the process, I did start to kind of experiment on myself," she added, calling herself a "guinea pig" before talking about "detoxes," "heavy metals," and "inflammation." The Goop founder further said that she has "genetic mutations" that affect her detoxing, continuing, "When I tried to eliminate [certain] things, my vitality spiked, my energy levels, clarity, et cetera. So that's what I was trying to bring into the life of my father as he was healing, to no avail." Cooking food for her father further spawned her interest in certain food, and she noted, "I went into hardcore macrobiotics for a certain time, that was an interesting chapter where I got kind of obsessed with eating very, very healthily. I think I was really trying to heal my dad by proxy and he just didn't really want anything to do with it...I might have gotten a little didactic about it, but I think I just felt so good." "I was sort of intoxicated by that idea and I still feel that way to this day. I mean, things have gotten a little more complicated with me and longer-term inflammation and health stuff," Gwyneth added. "But it's the reason Brad [Falchuk] and I became paleo a few years ago now, although I'm a little sick of it, if I'm honest, and getting back into eating some sourdough bread and some cheese. There, I said it. A little pasta after being strict with it for so long."

Gwenyth Paltrow 'sick' of Paleo diet
Gwyneth Paltrow is 'sick' of her caveman diet. The 52-year-old actress and her TV producer husband Brad Falchuk became Paleo - following a plan that only includes foods that were available during the Old Stone Age - "a few years ago", but she is now fed up of having "coffee [for breakfast], bone broth for lunch and vegetables for dinner" so she is ditching the restrictive diet for "sourdough bread, cheese [and] a little pasta". She is quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper's Eden Confidential column as saying: "Brad and I became Paleo a few years ago now, although I'm a little bit sick of it, if I'm honest. "I'm getting back into eating sourdough bread, cheese - there I said it. A little pasta after being strict with it for so long." The 'Iron Man' star previously revealed she also uses intermittent fasting during an appearance on 'The Art of Being Well' podcast in 2023. She explained: "I eat dinner early in the evening. I do a nice intermittent fast. I usually eat something at about 12. In the morning, I'll have something that won't spike my blood sugar, so I have coffee. But I really like soup for lunch. I have bone broth for lunch a lot of the days." Gwyneth added she does "one hour of movement" each day before she sitting in a sauna and then eating vegetables for dinner. Admitting the diet had "worked" for her, she added: "It's really just what has worked for me, and it's been very powerful and very positive. "This is not to say I eat this way all day, every day. And by the way, I eat far more than bone broth and vegetables. "I eat full meals, and I also have a lot of days of eating whatever I want. You know, eating french fries and whatever. My baseline has been to try to be healthy and eat foods that will really calm the system down." Gwyneth previously insisted she was attempting to use her diet to calm her "very high levels of inflammation" which she believed were linked to long COVID. During a fan Q+A on her Instagram Stories, Gwyneth said: "I've been working with Dr. Cole {Dr. Will Cole} to really focus on foods that aren't inflammatory. "So, lots of cooked vegetables, all kinds of protein, healthy carbs to really lower inflammation. It's been working really well."
