Generate Key Takeaways If Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson were hoping things would quiet down after that awkward CBS interview, the news cycle is not in their favor. Hudson and Belichick's relationship found itself back in the headlines thanks to Saturday Night Live. During the May 3 cold open, President Trump (played by comedian James Austin Johnson) signed an executive order known as 'The Belichick Law.' 'We're going to make girlfriends young again,' he joked. The spoof further cements these two as pop culture's couple of the moment. Whether that's a good or bad thing depends on who you ask. Belichick, 73, and Hudson, 24, immediately captured headlines when they went public with their relationship last year. Their 49-year age gap is notable, clearly, but this is hardly the first time a prominent public figure has dated someone decades younger. So why is this particular May-December relationship captivating the country? 'Bill's this legendary, no-nonsense football coach, kind of the ultimate stoic figure, while Jordon is young, vibrant and comes from a totally different world. That big age gap naturally makes people curious, but it's more than that,' Amy Prenner, communications expert and founder of the Prenner Group, tells Yahoo Entertainment. There was already interest in Hudson and Belichick's relationship before the April 27 interview debacle. (The mermaid social media photo, anyone?) 'Folks were already intrigued by the little glimpses they got, whether it was playful jabs from former NFL players or stories about how they met. There's a mix of mystery, humor and just plain fascination with the unusual nature of their relationship,' Prenner continues. 'The fact that SNL featured a jab during the cold open about them shows just how much their story has become part of pop culture. It's funny, unexpected and a little bit strange — all the ingredients that make for great comedy and conversation across different audiences.' Here's how Hudson and Belichick have created the perfect PR storm. Whether they'll talk about it or not, the reality is, we still are. Belichick and Hudson captivate 'different audiences' The headline-making outings. The beauty pageant contestant's outfits. How she gets Belichick to play along as the fisherman to her mermaid. The PDA. Football fans hardly recognize the usually stoic Belichick. Even if you aren't attuned to his accomplished NFL career, it's highly likely one of your group chats has texted ad nauseam about Hudson and Belichick. People care! Tilton/Getty Images) 'Just speaking candidly, I think most people would agree that there's a ton of intrigue and curiosity to the age gap and how different their personalities are,' an interested party named 'Bill' explains to Yahoo. (The Buffalo Bills fan asked Yahoo not to use his real name because, well, he prefers people publicly don't know he's interested in the story. He wasn't the only one.) 'On one side you've got a legendary coach, completely stoic, and on the other you've got this young, ambitious and energetic social media expert,' Bill says. 'It's entertaining — what goes on behind the scenes in that relationship? I'd love to know!' 'He's the [second] most winning coach of all time,' another guy tells Yahoo, who also preferred his name be kept out of it. 'It's out of character for him the way he's behaving publicly and on social media.' For what it's worth, this guy does care about the age gap too. 'It's interesting to me,' he says. Peter Cambs, a longtime New York Jets fan, says the story has also been a big topic in his group chats. Not because of the 49-year age gap in question, but because the cagey way Belichick's relationship has been handled in the press deepens the mystery. 'I [couldn't] literally care less who people date. It's really interesting for me, [living] in Europe, it's hard to kind of keep up with different sports. I'll listen to The Pat McAfee Show, Get Up with Mike Greenberg on ESPN, and what's really odd to me is ... they talk about literally everything, and they will not touch this topic,' says Cambs, who lives in Barcelona. 'Every time they interview him, it never comes up. … In my friend group, we're all kind of like, 'Why won't these sports talk shows that supposedly talk about everything [talk about it],'' he says. 'I think that's what makes it so interesting because you're like, 'Well, what's going on here?' Again, who cares he's dating somebody [young] and there's an age gap. That's nothing really that's that new.' One of the reasons interest in the couple has blown up is that their reach goes beyond a daily consumer of entertainment news. 'What's interesting is that this relationship has caught the attention of both men and women, which doesn't always happen with celebrity stories. Men might be curious about Bill's personal life and the age difference, while women might relate to the emotional side or the challenges Jordon faces in the spotlight,' Prenner says. Belichick and Hudson at Michael Rubin's 2025 Fanatics Super Bowl Party in New Orleans. (for Fanatics) 'Their relationship is a fascinating look at how modern celebrity culture works and how tough it is to manage a personal life in the spotlight today,' she continues. 'It's also a great distraction to what else is going on in the world.' Public relations expert Eric Schiffer puts it bluntly: 'America loves train wrecks, especially with a six-time Super Bowl-winning conductor.' One woman, who wished to be kept anonymous for privacy reasons, offers a different hot take to Yahoo. 'I like her. I like him. I get it,' she says. 'Am I crazy?' People love a 'fourth wall' moment Although there was curiosity about how the two met — apparently in 2021 on a plane to Palm Beach, Fla., when she was in college — that went into overdrive when Hudson seemingly wouldn't let her boyfriend answer the question on CBS Sunday Morning. When reality stars break what's known as the 'fourth wall' in television, it's instantly a viral moment. The same can be said in this instance, as CBS didn't edit Hudson's interruptions out. This backfired for the former cheerleader. 'Jordon's interruptions during the CBS interview came off as controlling and defensive instead of supportive,' Prenner explains. 'Instead of making them look open and honest, it made both of them seem a bit secretive and uncomfortable.' Belichick was notoriously reserved with the media as the head coach of the New England Patriots. He can handle himself when he doesn't want to answer a question, so when viewers saw Hudson speak for him, it was somewhat jarring. 'When Jordon stepped in so forcefully, it threw people off. Having Jordon act like a gatekeeper or publicist during the interview blurred the lines between personal and professional, and that rarely goes over well,' Prenner says. 'It felt like they were trying too hard to control the story, which can make people suspicious rather than sympathetic.' Schiffer agrees, adding, 'Watching Belichick was like watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers.' 'A past chess master known for controlling narratives now lets a 24-year-old script him,' Schiffer, chairman of Los Angeles-based Reputation Management Consultants, continues. Optically, he thinks Hudson's 'We're not talking about this' line didn't come across as 'protective' but more like a 'power play that exposed their hierarchy to millions.' Prenner believes this is 'a great example of how celebrity stories aren't just about the people involved; they're shaped by media, public expectations and cultural views on age and power.' 'Their CBS interview showed how tricky it can be to balance privacy with the public's desire for transparency. Sometimes trying to control the narrative too tightly just makes things worse,' she says. Can they weather the storm? Schiffer thinks the couple is on a collision course to implode from a brand standpoint. 'The age gap isn't just a number; it's a call to arms for public judgment, and America said 'Let's go,'' he says. 'It's become a PR disaster zone unfolding in real time.' Prenner says Hudson and Belichick need a new strategy if they want to 'improve how they're seen' publicly. 'Being more authentic and letting their story unfold naturally could help,' she explains. 'People respond to real moments more than polished PR moves. And it might be a good idea to keep personal and professional roles separate. Having Jordon act as a publicist only muddies the waters.' Hudson is competing in Miss Maine 2025 this weekend. It remains to be seen where she will place, but she's clearly already won Belichick's heart.

SNL takes a savage dig at Bill Belichick's May-December relationship with Jordon Hudson: "Make Girlfriends Young Again"

Bill Belichick's relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson sparks SNL satire, media criticism, and public debate, while the couple remains unfazed and focused on their future. (Credit: SNL/NBC and Getty Images) Bill Belichick may be a master strategist on the football field, but his off-field relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson has made him the punchline of late-night satire and the subject of media debate. The couple's 49-year age gap was recently spotlighted on the May 3 episode of Saturday Night Live , in a segment that blended politics with pop culture mockery. SNL cold open hilariously roasts Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson's eyebrow-raising 49-year age gap In the episode's Cold Open, James Austin Johnson's portrayal of Donald Trump, joined by Mikey Day's Stephen Miller, introduced a fictional executive order titled 'The Belichick Law.' 'Sir, this order will make it socially acceptable for a man in his 70s to date a 24-year-old,' Day's Miller quipped, to which Johnson's Trump replied, 'That's right, we're calling it 'The Belichick Law.' We're going to make girlfriends young again.' Trump's character doubled down, adding, 'Old men can now date far younger women. We like that. It's hot! But in reverse, it's quite disgusting, right? Very 'Dateline.'' The live audience responded with roaring laughter, cementing Belichick and Hudson's romance as comedic fodder for the masses. Former NFL insider Peter King expressed his discomfort on the Sports Media with Richard Deitsch podcast, stating, 'Bill's got to get a hold of himself here. He's got to get a hold of this situation. This is embarrassing. It's totally embarrassing for a guy who's as great at his job as he is.' Despite public scrutiny, those close to the couple paint a different picture. A source told PEOPLE magazine that Belichick is unfazed by the criticism. 'He's never been happier than he is with Jordon. She brings a positive energy, and people haven't seen him this relaxed and laidback in a while.' The insider added that Belichick, who met Hudson on a flight to Palm Beach in April 2021, continues to enjoy a strong bond with her. Their relationship has, however, drawn further attention following a tense moment during a CBS Sunday Mornings interview on April 27. When journalist Tony Dokoupil asked how they met, Hudson quickly shut the question down, saying, 'We're not talking about this.' Dokoupil later described her as a 'constant presence' throughout the taping. Belichick soon clarified the situation, issuing a statement that defended Hudson's reaction: 'She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track.' He further elaborated, 'Some of the clips make it appear as though we were avoiding the question of how we met, but we have been open about the fact that Jordon and I met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.' Meanwhile, Hudson is pursuing her own ambitions as she prepares to compete once again in the Miss Maine Pageant on May 10, representing Hancock. After securing second place in 2024, she's determined to take the crown this year. As the media storm continues to swirl, the couple appears committed to focusing on their bond—critics, skits, and pageants notwithstanding. SNL pokes fun at Bill Belichick's 49-year age gap with his girlfriend: ‘Old men can now date far younger women'

Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Belichick, were thrust back into the spotlight when their 49-year age gap was humorously mocked on Saturday Night Live. The couple, already facing backlash from Belichick's awkward CBS Mornings interview earlier in the week, found themselves the focus of the show's cold open, where James Austin Johnson's impersonation of Donald Trump took a jibe at their controversial relationship. Talking to Trump, Miller said, 'Sir, this order will make it socially acceptable for a man in his 70s to date a 24-year-old.' Johnson's Trump responded, 'That's right, we're calling it 'The Belichick Law.' We're going to make girlfriends young again, okay.' He continued, 'Old men can now date far younger women. We like that. It's hot! But in reverse it's quite disgusting, right? Very 'Dateline,'" as reported by Daily Mail. Belichick was also mocked by Jimmy Kimmel earlier in the week, who joked that the two must have met each other at a 'daddy-daughter dance.' Following a clip from CBS Sunday Morning, where Hudson interrupted a question about how she met the 73-year-old, Kimmel remarked, 'so not at church, then?' He added, 'It's like 'The Golden Bachelor' meets the regular 'Bachelorette,' as reported by Also Read: JD Vance blasted for his shocking reaction to Trump's AI photo as Pope; 'Fine with people…' The couple's recent controversy has raised more concerns than amusement, following Belichick's uncomfortable CBS interview that sparked questions about their relationship dynamic. In a particularly awkward moment, Hudson interrupted Belichick's conversation with CBS Sunday Morning host Tony Dokoupil when he was asked how they first met. She bluntly told Dokoupil, 'We're not talking about this.' The uncomfortable moment has led to significant backlash, with many questioning the level of control Hudson may have over Belichick's personal life. Further reports suggest that she stormed off the set during the interview, causing a 30-minute delay in filming, adding to the growing controversy. Former NGL insider, Peter King, expressed on Sports Media, 'This is a guy who owned every room he ever walked into and now he's got a 24-year-old muse telling him what to do or trying to control situations that quite frankly she has nothing to do with or should have nothing to do with.' He added, 'Bill's got to get a hold of himself here. He's got to get a hold of this situation. This is embarrassing. It's totally embarrassing for a guy who's as great at his job as he is.'

SNL slammed for making sordid joke about Elon Musk's 'pull out game'

Saturday Night Live has been slammed after making a sordid joke about Elon Musk's 'pull out game' over the weekend. The NBC comedy series faced backlash after comedian Michael Che delivered a bold joke about the tech billionaire during the 'Weekend Update' segment. The skit involved Che taking aim at Musk's recent announcement about stepping back from his duties in the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) federal agency. He then made a crude reference to the billionaire's personal life and 'pull out game' that left some viewers outraged. 'Elon musk announced that he will step back from his role with DOGE,' the co-host said. 'But as always Elon pulled out a little too late.' The joke was referencing the 'pull out' method of contraception - a pointed jab at Musk, who is the father of 14 children. The Tesla founder and X owner has fathered his children with four different women over two decades. Users slammed the show in the comments with one writing: 'Even Weekend Update is bad this week. Sad.' 'SNL is so f***** hyper-liberal!!! Bring back the good old days with people like the original cast!' another wrote. The criticism didn't stop there. One user commented: 'At the very least, SNL could buy a new laugh track.' 'New writer for these guys? The jokes were so bad, they were laughing at each other's bombs,' another chimed in. Meanwhile, NFL legend Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend were also savagely mocked on SNL this weekend over their questionable age gap. The NBC show roasted the whopping 48-year age difference between the former Patriots coach, 72, and his beauty pageant girlfriend Jordon Hudson in a politically charged joke. The sketch featured James Austin Johnson's Donald Trump impression alongside Mikey Day as advisor Stephen Miller in an executive order signing that made fun of the controversial romance. 'Sir, this order will make it socially acceptable for a man in his 70s to date a 24-year-old,' Day told Johnson in the skit. 'That's right, we're calling it 'The Belichick Law.' We're going to make girlfriends young again, okay,' Johnson said. Last month, the SNL cast brutally slammed Elon Musk during the show's cold open, leaving the live audience - and viewers at home - groaning in discomfort. The Tesla CEO, played by Mike Myers, was seen cutting off President Donald Trump - impersonated by James Austin Johnson - wearing a cheese hat like the Tesla CEO did on March 31 for a rally in Wisconsin. 'Say cheese! Hahahaha, kidding, kidding,' Myers said as he tossed the hat to the side. 'That was from when I tried to buy the election in Wisconsin, uhhhh, I'm an idiot, I should've just bought Wisconsin,' he added before suffering from a 'glitch' - a reoccurring mockery SNL makes of Musk. Johnson then poked fun at Musk stepping down as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and said: 'Elon it was great, but sadly, it's time to never see you again, OK? You gotta get back to Tesla, right? Because they're doing pretty bad.' 'Yes, recently our dealerships have been the target of many attacks and suddenly, no one likes Tesla cars. So, I ask myself why and then I answered myself, 'cause of me,' Myers said as he broke into an awkward dance and chuckled. The show made another pointed dig at the billionaire, as Myers announced the new Tesla 'Model V,' an electric car that is 'self-vandalizing' and comes with features like smashed headlights, slashed tires and 'AI-powered graffiti' that can either be in the shape of a penis or Swastika. The show's takedown of Musk left many viewers uncomfortable and angry, as one called the skit 'really poor,' adding: 'Making fun of high functioning Asperger's is so typical of the mentally ill left,' referring to the tech CEO's diagnosis he went public with four years ago on SNL.
