Elon Musk uses ‘KILL BILL' in call for Americans to rise up against Trump's ‘Big Beautiful' plan

The world's wealthiest man is using Quentin Tarantino's bloody classic 'Kill Bill' in a call to action against former Donald Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' spending and tax cut package that is now being considered by the U.S. Senate. Elon Musk on Wednesday sent out a missive to the 220 million people who follow him on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) urging them to contact their members of Congress and voice their displeasure at the legislation, which the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office projects would add trillions of dollars to the national debt. 'Call your Senator, Call your Congressman, Bankrupting America is NOT ok! KILL the BILL,' Musk posted. A short time later, he put up an image of the iconic poster for the 2003 film, starring Uma Thurman as samurai-trained killer 'The Bride,' to underscore the point. Musk, who wrapped up his time as a special government employee last week, has emerged as a vocal opponent of the signature legislation of the administration in which he enthusiastically served from President Donald Trump's first day in office until the end of May, when his status as an unpaid special government employee lapsed. On Tuesday, he called the 'massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill' a 'disgusting abomination' and said those who'd voted for it had 'did wrong.' It was a dramatic break from Trump, on whose campaign Musk had spent more than a quarter-billion dollars during last year's presidential election cycle. With control of X, one of the world's most widely-used social media platforms, and his essentially unlimited funds, Musk could be a formidable opponent to any officeholder who does not heed his advice on the legislation, which passed the House last month and must be passed by the Senate before it can be signed into law by Trump. Musk threatened as much on Tuesday, writing: 'In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people.' He also appears to be on the outs with top Republicans in Congress, including House Speaker Mike Johnson. Johnson told reporters on Wednesday that Musk had declined to answer phone calls and texts from the Louisiana Republican. 'I called Elon last night and he didn't answer, but I hope to talk to him today,' replied Johnson. 'It's very friendly ... and we've laughed about our differences on policy before.' Johnson claimed that he's not upset about the situation, adding that Musk has 'acknowledged to me before that this is so serious that we can't fool around with it.'

Hollywood legend unrecognisable after dramatic transformation for new film

There's only one indisputable king of body transformations in Hollywood. Christian Bale has made the dramatic transformations part of his brand as an actor. There was the time he got jacked for American Psycho. Or emerged rail-thin for his role in The Machinist. Or beefed up for Vice. Then he shaved his head last year for his upcoming role in The Bride. Now Bale is back at it, with a fresh look for the David O Russell film Madden, which sees him play the NFL team owner of the LA Raiders, Al Davis. He's joined by Nicholas Cage, who stars as Raiders head coach turned broadcaster John Madden, and Sienna Miller who plays Madden's wife. The sports film tracks Madden's journey to coaching the Raiders to win the Super Bowl, before burnout prompted him to leave the team and eventually wind up as a broadcaster. The new pictures from the set in Atlanta show the Oscar winner in a leather jacket with hair so slicked back it would leave Bella Hadid impressed. The hair also has a noticeable widow's peak to it. It's unclear whether Bale is wearing a wig, but given what we know about how much he likes to transform for roles, there's every possibility it's his real tresses. Bale is also sporting a ruddy complexion on set, which was particularly noticeable in the pictures without his sunglasses on. It's not just Bale who's made a physical change for the film, as the new pictures from filming on set show Cage has also changed his look for the role, with noticeably new copper wavy hair. More Trending Bale has done everything imaginable to contort his body for his parts. He did special exercises that would thicken his neck for the part of Dick Cheney. He survived on a daily intake of water, an apple, and one cup of coffee to become an insomniac factory worker. But in recent years Bale has said his history of insane body transformations might be just that: a thing of the past. Bale told The Sunday Times Culture magazine in 2019: 'I can't keep doing it. I really can't.' He went on to say that the roles had taken their toll and he had reached a point where his 'mortality is staring [him] in the face'. He again said that age had been the deciding factor, telling E! News at the premiere for Ford vs Ferrari. 'I've become a little bit more boring now, because I'm older and I feel like if I keep doing what I've done in the past I'm going to die,' he said. 'So, I'd prefer not to die,' he added with a laugh. Everything we know about Tina Romero's queer 'glam-gore' zombie film, 'Queens of the Dead'

Gear up, queens! A new zombie apocalypse film is on its way — but this one is putting LGBTQ+ characters front and center. Tina Romero is set to carry on the horror legacy of her father, George A. Romero, with a zombie flick of her own, Queens of the Dead. The horror-comedy project was announced last summer, promising a "genre-smashing, glam-gore thrill ride through the zombie apocalypse." "The zombie apocalypse is such a rich sandbox to play in when it comes to social commentary. I can't be my dad's daughter without making an attempt at saying something with zombies," Romero told Entertainment Weekly. "It's very much not a film he would make, but it is using his vocabulary and is playing by his rules. As far as the queer element, on one hand, I just feel like the gays need a zombie film. It's time that we get to have a big gay zombie movie." Are you hyped yet?! Here's what we know about the movie so far: See on Instagram According to the official Instagram page for the film, Queens of the Dead "follows an eclectic group of drag queens, club kids, and frenemies who must put aside their personal dramas and use their unique skills to combat the brain-thirsty undead when a zombie apocalypse breaks out during their drag show in Brooklyn." See on Instagram Queens of the Dead boasts a stacked cast of comedy and queer faves. Katy O'Brian, Jaquel Spivey, Tomás Matos, Margaret Cho, Jack Haven, and Cheyenne Jackson are leading the charge, with Riki Lindhome, Tom Savini, Eve Lindley, Dominique Jackson, Nina West, and Shaunette Renée Wilson among those rounding out the cast. Romero directed the film, which is based on a script she co-wrote with Erin Judge. See on Instagram Most of the scenes for Queens of the Dead were filmed at a warehouse in New Jersey, with some additional shots taking place in Bushwick in Brooklyn. According to O'Brian, the location wound up helping the crew pull in favors from a larger production that had recently wrapped up filming in New York, The Bride! "Our budget was not big, and people really were doing this out of the love for the project. I think it really shows," she said. "Our hair and makeup department pulled in some favors and got all of this zombie stuff." See on Instagram There is not currently a trailer publicly available for Queens of the Dead, although it seems likely one will drop soon. See on Instagram Queens of the Dead has its official world premiere slated for June 7, 2025, at the Tribeca Film Festival. It's unclear yet as to whether the film will ultimately get theatrical distribution or go straight to streaming after running the festival circuit — let alone when that might be — but we'll keep our fingers crossed for sometime in 2025!

‘The Bride Of Frankenstein' Reaches Landmark Anniversary This Weekend

1935: The monster, played by Boris Karloff (1887 - 1969), believes he has found his true mate in ... More 'Bride of Frankenstein', directed by James Whale. The would-be bride is played by English actress Elsa Lanchester (1902 - 1986). (Photo via John) The Bride of Frankenstein — the classic sequel to Frankenstein starring Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester — celebrates a big anniversary this weekend. Directed by Frankenstein filmmaker James Whale, Universal Studio's The Bride of Frankenstein is based on a subplot in Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's legendary 1818 novel Frankenstein. Karloff reprised his role from the original film as Frankenstein's Monster, as did Colin Clive as Dr. Henry Frankenstein. Lanchester plays two roles in the film, as Shelley in the film's prologue and The Bride in the film's climactic final scene. The Bride of Frankenstein also stars Ernest Thesiger as Dr. Septimus Pretorius, Dwight Frye as Pretorious' henchman, Karl, Gavin Gordon as Lord Byron, Valerie Hobson as Elizabeth Frankenstein and O. P. Heggie as the blind fiddle player whom Frankenstein's Monster encounters in the character's forest abode. The Bride of Frankenstein celebrates its 90th anniversary on Sunday. The film premiered in U.S. theaters on April 20, 1935, about three and a half years after the release of Frankenstein on Nov. 21, 1931. The Bride of Frankenstein largely features Frankenstein's Monster and the events leading up top the creation of his mate, while the character of The Bride doesn't appear until the final scene of the film. While The Bride's appearance in The Bride of Frankenstein amounts to less than five minutes of screen time, the indelible image of the Elsa Lanchester character — made complete with shocks of lightning bolt streaks in her hair — has become iconic. In addition, the film has stood the test of time with critics, as Rotten Tomatoes reviewers gave the film a 98% 'fresh' rating based on 54 reviews, while Entertainment Weekly in 2023 named it the best horror sequel of all time ahead of 19 other film classics. Publicity still portrait of American actress Elsa Lanchester (1902 - 1986) in the film 'The Bride of ... More Frankenstein' (directed by James Whale), 1935. (Photo by John) Elsa Lanchester's version of The Bride in The Bride of Frankenstein has become such a big part of Universal Studios Monsters' lore that she has been featured alongside Bela Lugosi's Dracula, Lon Chaney Jr.'s Wolfman, Boris Karloff's Frankenstein's Monster and the Mummy and Ben Chapman/Ricou Browning's The Creature from the Black Lagoon as the faces of the studio's franchise for decades. To this day, The Bride of Frankenstein remains a big part of Universal Studios Monsters merchandising, from Halloween costumes, Gothic-style apparel and action figures. The Bride has also gone on to be featured in other film iterations of the tale or Frankenstein's tale in the decades since the release of The Bride of Frankenstein in 1935. Among the films featuring the monster's mate are the 1973 telefilm Frankenstein: The True Story, which starred Jane Seymour as The Bride opposite Michael Sarrazin's Monster; and 1985's The Bride, starring Jennifer Beals in the title role opposite Sting's Dr. Frankenstein. The Bride also appeared in director Kenneth Branagh's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in 1994, where Helena Bonham Carter plays the doomed mate of Robert De Niro's Frankenstein's Monster. (Photo byfor CinemaCon) Jessie Buckley will be next to play the iconic role of The Bride of Frankenstein in writer-director Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Bride, which also stars Christian Bale as Frankenstein's Monster. The Bride is set for a March 6, 2026, release in theaters. Meanwhile, Guillermo del Toro is preparing a new version of Frankenstein for Netflix, which is scheduled to be released in theaters in November before it debuts on the streamer on a date that is yet to be announced. Jacob Elordi stars as Frankenstein's Monster in the film and there's no word yet whether the story will include The Bride. Oscar Isaac also stars as Dr. Victor Frankenstein and Mia Goth plays Elizabeth. As for another Universal Studios Monsters' version of The Bride of Frankenstein, only time will tell if Universal Pictures will either try to resurrect its shuttered Dark Universe of monster movies or go the route of the cost-efficient reboots of The Invisible Man and Wolf Man, both directed by Leigh Whannell. In the Dark Universe version of the Frankenstein tale that never happened, Angelina Jolie, per Variety, was being considered to star in thet title role in The Bride of Frankenstein in 2020 with Javier Bardem onboard to play Frankenstein's Monster. Viewers who want to celebrate The Bride of Frankenstein's 90th anniversary on Sunday can purchase or rent the film on several digital platforms including AppleTV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video, Spectrum and Movies Anywhere.
