Seattle police look to identify expensive Tiffany's bracelet thief
The Brief
Seattle police are asking for help identifying a man who attempted to steal a $27,000 bracelet from the Tiffany's Downtown Seattle jewelry store.
The man was stopped by security guards multiple times and was unable to get away with the bracelet, but he remains unidentified.
The same man is suspected of stealing a $16,000 Tiffany's bracelet in Bellevue a week earlier.
SEATTLE - Seattle police detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who attempted to steal a $27,000 bracelet from Tiffany & Co. three weeks ago.
What we know
The theft happened on Jan. 2 around 4:40 p.m. at the Tiffany's Downtown Seattle jewelry store, located near Pine Street and 6th Avenue.
The suspect entered the store posing as a customer and was noticeably shaking, according to the report. He asked to try on a bracelet, and then ran out of the store.
Store security struggled to stop the suspect, and he continued to run away with the stolen bracelet.
Police say a Pacific Place security officer managed to remove the bracelet from the suspect's wrist after a physical struggle. The bracelet was later returned to Tiffany's.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20's, 5'9", around 160 lbs, with short dark hair and a thin build. He was wearing a blue North Face puffer jacket with a gray t-shirt, black pants, black and white New Balance sneakers and white Apple Airpods.
What they're saying
The same man is also suspected of stealing a different bracelet from a Tiffany & Co. in Bellevue on December 26. The stolen Tiffany pavé bangle has a value of $16,000.
