Craanford come up with strong finish to account for St. James'
A DRIVEN Craanford side scored seven of the last eight points in McCauley Park, Bellefield on Saturday to inflict a first defeat on St. James' in Group A of The Courtyard Ferns Intermediate hurling championship.

Buffers Alley too strong for Blackwater in damp squib
A CONTEST that teased a classic local derby ended as a bit of a damp squib as Buffers Alley comfortably saw off Blackwater in Group A of The Courtyard Ferns Intermediate hurling championship in Hollymount on Saturday. The Monamolin-based club used a mightily impressive third quarter to pin Blackwater down and while the Wexford District side did fight to the end, they were always playing second fiddle to a superior Alley outfit.

Depleted Liam Mellows cause an upset as Askamore lose unbeaten record
Wexford People Today at 14:30 THE FORMBOOK was ripped to shreds in Samaritans St. Patrick's Park, Enniscorthy on Saturday when newcomers Liam Mellows defied the odds to emphatically end Askamore's one hundred per cent record in Group B of The Courtyard Ferns Intermediate hurling championship. Last year's Intermediate 'A' victors had just one point to show from the first two rounds, and I didn't expect them to better that when I queried if their team as per the programme had any changes beforehand.

St. James' too sharp for disappointing Fethard in derby
Wexford People Today at 10:30 St. James' had too much for a disappointing Fethard side in this Group B clash in The Courtyard Ferns Intermediate hurling championship in Grantstown on Sunday. A clash between neighbours usually throws up an extra bit of bite, but while there were a few plays close to the edge, the Ramsgrange men always had their opponents at arm's length.
