Shah Rukh Khan Drops By DDLJ Musical Rehearsals In London, Leaves Cast Starstruck

Last Updated: Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise visit to the rehearsals of "Come Fall in Love, The DDLJ Musical" in London, leaving the cast starstruck. Can you hear Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam playing in the background? Because that's exactly the kind of dreamy moment that unfolded recently in London! Shah Rukh Khan, our forever Raj, made a surprise visit to the rehearsals of Come Fall in Love, The DDLJ Musical. Needless to say, the cast was left completely starstruck. For anyone who's grown up on DDLJ, you know it's not just a film but a whole emotion. The mustard fields, the train scene, Simran's dupatta flying in the wind, and Raj's goofy charm. And now, that magic is headed to the stage with a grand musical adaptation directed by Aditya Chopra himself. As the cast was prepping for their big premiere later this month, in walked SRK casually dressed in a white tee and jeans. He even posed for a sweet photo with the musical's leads, Jena Pandya and Ashley Day, who play Simran and Raj in this retelling. Take a look at the pic here: It's been nearly three decades since SRK first said, 'Bade bade deshon mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hai, Senorita," and here he is, still making hearts flutter! Jena Pandya, who plays Simran (originally played by Kajol) talked about meeting Shah Rukh Khan and said, 'Meeting Shah Rukh Khan and having him in the rehearsal room was such an honour. He was so generous with his time and support for the show. Being able to show him some of the iconic scenes that he and Kajol originally established was an incredible feeling and will be a long-lasting memory for me. I can't wait to head to Manchester next week and put this story on stage!" Ashley Day, who plays Roger, (based on Shah Rukh's Raj), said, 'When he arrived in our rehearsal room and met the full company, it was a moment that quietly landed on all of us, special in a way that didn't need words. Watching everyone take him in, I could feel how meaningful it was. He greeted us all with such love and genuine excitement about what we've been building. I can't imagine what it must feel like to see a project—beloved by millions—being reimagined as a musical 30 years later. And yet, he kept asking to see more! The words we shared privately are for one Raj to another Rog—but I will say, he was very happy. It was an unbelievable afternoon. I'll never forget it." Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical is all set to charm UK audiences with its grand premiere at the Manchester Opera House from May 29 to June 21. The big press night is scheduled for June 4. Just like the original film, the musical's story unfolds across both India and the UK. First Published:
