The Red Wheel at The Factory at Franklin Has a New Concert Series!

Share with your friends! Pinterest LinkedIn Email Flipboard Reddit Franklin is turning up the charm (and the volume) this summer with a new twist on live music. Say hello to The Red Wheel at The Factory, a songwriter series that's part concert, part history lesson, and entirely unforgettable. Hosted at The Factory at Franklin, this in-the-round showcase brings some of the region's most iconic songwriters straight into the spotlight and closer to your table than ever. Pin Think of it as Nashville's most talented musical minds, unfiltered and unplugged, telling the stories behind their hits … only instead of stadium lights and pyrotechnics, you'll find vintage-industrial vibes, tasty cheese boards, and a bourbon cocktail with your name on it. So, why the name The Red Wheel? It's a clever nod to The Factory's former life. Back in the day, the building cranked out Magic Chef appliances, including a signature red oven dial known for its precision. That same spirit of fine-tuned craftsmanship now lives on through this fun songwriting series. And forget nosebleed seats — we're talking an intimate venue here. There are only 200 coveted spots per show, and every one feels like you're in the front row. The Red Wheel's reimagined setup puts artists and audiences face-to-face in a cozy, conversational setting. Whether you're soaking in sweet bluegrass on a Thursday or getting your soul stirred by Sunday gospel, this is music at its most raw and real. Performances will run four days a week from June 13 through July 5. Each Thursday at 7 p.m., the spotlight turns to bluegrass, while Fridays and Saturdays feature two showtimes — 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. — highlighting a rich blend of country, folk, and Americana. Sundays offer a soulful close to the weekend with gospel performances beginning at 2 p.m. Oh, and while you're basking in musical genius, don't worry about missing the show while you grab a snack. Premium table service, curated nibbles from Greys Fine Cheeses, and pours from Nashville Barrel Co. ensure your senses are equally spoiled. Pin The inaugural roster is stacked. We're talking chart-toppers and tear-jerkers from the minds behind some of your favorite songs, like Rhett Akins (Blake Shelton's 'Boys' Round Here'), Carolyn Dawn Johnson (Keith Urban's 'Golden Road'), Tony Arata (Garth Brooks' 'The Dance'), and American Idol-winner Trent Harmon. And yes, you can expect surprise guests, too! Tickets are already on sale, and local heroes (including teachers, first responders, and military members) can also snag special discounts. Whether you're a die-hard music buff or just someone who enjoys a good tune and a great cocktail, The Red Wheel is your backstage pass. And in true Franklin fashion, it's wrapped in charm, served with cheese, and poured over ice. For tickets and more info, visit ********** Discover even more Southern stories worth sharing. He said: 'Lindsey's departure was traumatic and a major change for the band, but we decided we wanted to carry on. We made the decision together. "Of course, we could have just stopped and it probably would have been an easy point to stop, but we definitely didn't want to. 'Lindsay left fairly acrimoniously and we weren't getting on well any more, and yes, it is a happier ship to be on. "We have two new people in the band who have been hugely accepted and welcomed, but in many ways it does amaze me that we are still here all these years later, after all of the ups and downs."

InterContinental Maldives Unveils an Evocative New Artwork 'The Silent Dance' by Kristel Bechara

Web Release Selection Lifestyle By Editor_wr Last updated Apr 28, 2025 Art and culture have intertwined in breathtaking fashion once again at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort with the unveiling of 'The Silent Dance', an evocative new painting created during the exclusive Eid artist residency of award-winning Middle Eastern artist Kristel Bechara. Drawing on the island's conservation work and natural beauty, the painting captures the harmony of marine life through the graceful form of manta rays, positioning the resort as a beacon for meaningful cultural collaboration and artistic expression in the Maldives. Kristel Bechara, known for her signature fusion of vivid patterns and expressive colours against monochromatic backdrops, recently brought her unique aesthetic to the resort during a six-day residency from April 5th to 10th. Beginning the work in her Dubai studio, Kristel completed the final brushstrokes of 'The Silent Dance' while immersed in the island's serene surroundings. Guests had the opportunity to engage with the artist through live sessions and interactive workshops, gaining first-hand insight into her creative process and the environmental message behind the artwork. 'The Silent Dance' is a captivating homage to the fluid beauty of manta rays, creatures that glide through the ocean in silence and symmetry. At the heart of the canvas, three manta rays float in a circular motion above a greyscale coral reef, their wings adorned with intricate, vibrant detailing. The composition mirrors Henri Matisse's famed 'The Dance', replacing human figures with marine life in a rhythmic celebration of movement, freedom, and continuity. This reinterpretation not only showcases Kristel's rich visual language but also speaks to the quiet, powerful interconnectedness of life beneath the waves. By contrasting the colourful mantas with the starkness of a monochrome reef, the piece brings attention to the fragility of marine ecosystems. It reflects the delicate balance between nature's vibrancy and the environmental challenges facing the oceans today. Through 'The Silent Dance', viewers are invited into a meditative moment, a celebration of the underwater world and a call to action to protect it. The unveiling of 'The Silent Dance' further cements InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort as a hub for immersive, artistic encounters that transcend borders. The successful Eid residency with Kristel Bechara not only strengthened cultural ties between the Maldives and the UAE but also created a platform where art becomes a medium for storytelling, sustainability, and shared experience. Beyond its growing role in the cultural landscape, the resort continues to lead in sustainable luxury. Nestled on the edge of the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the property is committed to preserving the natural world it calls home. Through its long-standing partnership with The Manta Trust, the resort supports essential research into manta behaviour and habitat, using its proximity to a juvenile manta feeding ground to offer guests rare educational encounters with these majestic creatures. InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort's collaboration with Kristel Bechara is a powerful reminder of the beauty and fragility of our oceans. As the resort continues to host artists, thinkers, and environmental advocates, it reaffirms its vision as a destination where conservation meets creativity and where every guest leaves inspired by both the land and the sea. Broadcaster Kevin Harlan makes clutch deflection, delivers epic play-by-play call during March Madness game

Kevin Harlan has one of the most recognizable voices in sports. The longtime broadcaster has handled play-by-play duties for NFL, NBA and college basketball games. Harlan's voice can currently be heard during some of this year's NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament games. He was on the call for No. 6-seeded Ole Miss' hard-fought victory over No. 11 North Carolina. But at one point during the first half, Harlan had to think quickly – and he certainly rose to the occasion. Ole Miss held a 41-23 lead over North Carolina with just over two minutes left before halftime when a Rebels player attempted to stop an errant ball from going out of bounds. But a Tar Heels player ended up deflecting the ball. The deflection sent the ball speeding toward the area along the sideline where Harlan was sitting with his headset on. Harlan then put his quick reflexes on full display, while simultaneously offering a play-by-play of the action. "Saves the ball with a leap. Knocked out of bounds, deflected by me, and off to the side," he said as he stretched out his arm to make sure his broadcasting partner Stan Van Gundy didn't get hit by the ball. "It was going right for you, did you see that?" Harlan then asked the former NBA coach. Van Gundy then took a look at the replay and praised Harlan, saying, "Great deflection!" Almost immediately after the Tar Heels were revealed as one of the 68 teams who made it to "The Dance," the storied program faced considerable backlash. Since UNC was the final team to get awarded a spot in the NCAA Tournament, they had to play in the "First Four" for seeding purposes. The Tar Heels dominated the San Diego State Aztecs in that matchup to earn the No. 11 seed in the South Region. But North Carolina could not overcome Ole Miss in the first round. RJ Davis led the Tar Heels with 15 points, while Sean Pedulla's 20-point performance helped the Rebels advance. Ole Miss will meet No. 3 Iowa in the second round on Sunday in Milwaukee.
