‘Battlefield 6' Players Revolt Over A Lack Of Weapon Locking
Battlefield 6 EA While previews of Battlefield 6 have looked intense and quite good, the game has already stumbled into controversy with its early test, and a major change was just detailed by DICE. Players hate it. Battlefield 6 is putting a spin on the class system in that technically it still has classes, but a major point is that weapons are not locked to specific classes. There are bonuses with each class if you use a specific type of weapon, called a 'signature weapon,' but the issue is that there is a pretty clear lack of identity and the potential to be a jack-of-all-trades one-man-army for each player. Here's what DICE said about classes yesterday: So, rather than locking weapons to classes, the fixed class bonuses are signature weapons, an example being a Recon class that gives increased breath holding, whereas other classes will not have that. But they can all still use sniper rifles. Battlefield 6 EA Other fixed things with classes are Signature Traits, ie. Recon spotting enemies when AD. There are Signature Gadgets, class-specific tools. There are Default Weapon Packages, custom easy loadouts for each class but again, the weapons are not locked. This is not the first time this has happened (Battlefield 2042, for example) but it's something that players mostly dislike, as evidenced by the social media reaction to the breakdown of the new system. There are theories that this new system may actually be in place in order to sell weapon cosmetics. The idea being that if every class preferred by players can use any weapon, you are more likely to buy a skin than if you only have a few weapons you can use. I mean, DICE is not saying that specifically (not that they ever would), but it's what some fans are suggesting. It's also monetization-happy EA we're talking about here. Is this system locked in place? (ha). That depends. The 'labs' post says it welcomes player feedback but this may be a pretty significant rework of the entire class concept that is likely not as easy as it sounds, with balance and gameplay created around it. Though fans don't care, and want it fixed. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.

Valve Addresses Alleged Steam Hack And Clarifies Situation
A Steam logo of a video game digital distribution service is seen on a smartphone and a pc screen. Over the past day or so, a viral story spread that there was a Steam data breach that could expose account information millions of players. At the very least, it seemed worth changing your password as of course no one wants to get hacked and lose potentially thousands of dollars of a game library. I was even paranoid enough to do that myself. Well, about that. This whole saga started in the Dark Web, a thing that yes, really does exist, where a user reported that they were selling 89 million accounts' data, and word subsequently spread like wildfire. However, Valve has now commented that this was not a breach of Steam systems, but a leak of 'older text messages' that had been sent to Steam users, which include one-time codes and the phone numbers they were sent to. But those codes don't work. And the phone numbers are not able to be linked to specific Steam accounts. You can just read the entire thing here: So no, Valve says this is not a breach that endangers your Steam account and you do not have to do anything as elaborate as change your password or phone number associated with your account. That said, they say any time is a good time to check out your Steam security especially by setting up Two-Factor Authentication. What can I say? I was swept up in the paranoia. But Valve says that wasn't necessary and what was exposed here appears to be useless in going after specific accounts. Follow me on Twitter, Threads, YouTube, and Instagram. NYT ‘Strands' Hints, Spangram And Answers For Thursday, May 15
Strands Looking for Wednesday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here: Finally! We have something that is actually in my wheelhouse in terms of general knowledge. However, I was still tripped up with a few of these answers and you may be as well. So let's go through them. The New York Times' Strands puzzle is a play on the classic word search. It's in beta for now, which means it'll only stick around if enough people play it every day. There's a new game of Strands to play every day. The game will present you with a six by eight grid of letters. The aim is to find a group of words that have something in common, and you'll get a clue as to what that theme is. When you find a theme word, it will remain highlighted in blue. You'll also need to find a special word called a spangram. This tells you what the words have in common. The spangram links two opposite sides of the board. While the theme words will not be a proper name, the spangram can be a proper name. When you find the spangram, it will remain highlighted in yellow. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Be warned: You'll need to be on your toes. 'Some themes are fill-in-the-blank phrases. They may also be steps in a process, items that all belong to the same category, synonyms or homophones,' The New York Times notes. 'Just as she varies the difficulty of Wordle puzzles within a week, [Wordle and Strands editor Tracy] Bennett plans to throw Strands solvers curveballs every once in a while.' The NYT hint is first and then I will give you one of my own that I think will help you along further. The official hint is: Animal drive And mine is Vroom vroom There you go, now go nuts. Here are today's answers and spoilers will follow, so be careful. We will start with the spangram and move on to the full list. The spangram is: AUTOMOBILES And here's where that lies on the board: Strands The list of answers are: Strands So yep, that's a list of cars that have animal names. Many of the came easy, but some were weird like I found 'COBRA' in BRONCO where that is a variant of a MUSTANG, which is another puzzle word. I guess I didn't think about an IMPALA being an animal but I mean, of course it is. There was also RAM in here, but there aren't enough letters. I definitely forgot a RABBIT was a car, as it was first made over forty years ago now. Follow me on Twitter, Threads, YouTube, and Instagram. Here's The ‘Ginny And Georgia' Season 3 Release Date On Netflix, New Trailer
Ginny and Georgia One of Netflix's most popular sleeper shows, Ginny and Georgia, is about to return for season 3 more than two years after its January 2023 debut, because this is the world we live in now. The release date for Ginny and Georgia season 3 is June 5, 2025, a month from now, and this series has taken over 5 years just to get three seasons out. It's been pretty exhausting. But now promotion is ramping up for season 3, which now includes a new, lengthy trailer for the season that was just released below. Check it out: The season 2 cliffhanger was intense, and given that fans have been waiting, again, 2.5 years for this to be resolved, it's certainly going to be a relief to see how this plays out. Here is the official synopsis for season 3: The series is not exactly one that has garnered a huge amount of critical acclaim, season 1 with a 68% on Rotten Tomatoes and season 2 with a barely-fresh 60%. Audience scores are better, a 75% overall, but viewership has been very solid and combined with a relatively low cost, here we are with season 3. We already know that season 4 is coming with an early greenlight for that. It remains unclear why Ginny and Georgia season 3 took this long to get here, there were a few different strikes, but many other shows did not suffer this same level of delay. Production only began on the series in February of 2024, and here we are, a year and a half later. Hopefully there will be no excuse for this to happen again for season 4. So, it's just a month to go, but fans will at least have a full new trailer to start to get hyped for its return after the sprawling gap. Watch it above. ‘The Gilded Age' Season 3 Reveals An Imminent Release Date On HBO
The Gilded Age Carrie Coon just had a memorable turn in HBO's White Lotus season 3, but now she's back for a different season 3, albeit on the same streaming service. That would be The Gilded Age season 3, where she plays let's say, an antihero in the social scene of the day. Now, HBO has given an official release date for The Gilded Age season 3, and it's going to be on Sunday, June 22, just a month and a half from now. This will be well outside HBO's current, huge Sunday night show, The Last of Us, which will end its second season on May 25. Here's a somewhat lengthy, official description for season 3 of The Gilded Age: It has neither been declared that a fourth season has been auto-renewed for The Gilded Age, or that season 3 is planned to be its last, so the hope is that it will get big enough viewership to warrant coming back. It's not the cheapest show in the world, but HBO seems to have liked its performance well enough, and it's a good way to round out its catalogue. Supposedly a big focus of the season will be an 'age of divorce' that America started entering into during this time period. Here's HBO's Francesca Orsa speaking to Deadline: It should certainly be an interesting season, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Yes, I do watch this!
