American media is ‘compromised and corrupt'
US President Donald Trump has labeled American media 'compromised and corrupt,' accusing it of publishing 'fake' polls that understate his approval ratings. Trump's rant followed the publication of surveys by the New York Times and ABC/Washington Post respectively which suggested that support for the president was at record low as he approached the hundredth day of his second term in the White House. 'We don't have a Free and Fair 'Press' in this Country anymore. We have a Press that writes BAD STORIES, and CHEATS, BIG, ON POLLS. IT IS COMPROMISED AND CORRUPT. SAD,' he wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday. Trump insisted that 'great Pollster John McLaughlin, one of the most highly respected in the industry, has just stated that The Failing New York Times Poll, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll, about a person named DONALD J. TRUMP, ME, are FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS.' McLaughlin, a veteran researcher and political consultant often branded 'Trump's pollster' by the US media, later shared a screenshot of the US leader's post on his account on X. 'The New York Times has only 37% Trump 2024 voters, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll has only 34% Trump Voters, unheard of numbers unless looking for a negative result, which they are,' Trump insisted. He said that the media organizations should be investigated for fraud, along with the Fox News pollster that suggested that 44% of Americans approved of the president's 'overall job performance.' 'They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse,' Trump stressed. The president also claimed that American media outlets 'suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK, almost only write negative stories about me no matter how well I am doing... AND ARE TRULY THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!'

Trump Demands Criminal Probe After Most Brutal Poll Numbers Yet
President Trump woke up early and angry Monday morning after multiple polls showed he has the lowest first 100 days approval rating of any president in the last 80 years. 'Great Pollster John McLaughlin, one of the most highly respected in the industry, has just stated that The Failing New York Times Poll, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll, about a person named DONALD J. TRUMP, ME, are FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS,' the president posted on Truth Social at 5:24 a.m. 'The New York Times has only 37% Trump 2024 voters, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll has only 34% Trump Voters, unheard of numbers unless looking for a negative result, which they are. These people should be investigated for ELECTION FRAUD, and add in the FoxNews Pollster while you're at it.' 'They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse. They suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK, almost only write negative stories about me no matter how well I am doing (99.9% at the Border, BEST NUMBER EVER!), AND ARE TRULY THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!' Only 39 percent of respondents to the ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll approved of how Trump was doing generally, a 6 point drop from just two months ago. Fifty-five percent outright disapprove. Respondents disapprove of Trump even more on the more specific issues. Seventy-two percent think it's very or somewhat likely that his economic policies will cause a recession soon. Seventy-three percent said the economy is in 'bad shape,' while 53 percent said it's gotten worse since Trump took office—and 41 percent said their own finances have been hurt. Seventy-one percent think his tariffs are making inflation worse, 65 percent think Trump is actively ignoring federal court orders, and 64 percent think he's going too far with his executive powers. The New York Times poll was similarly bleak. Sixty-six percent of respondents thought 'chaotic' accurately described Trump's first 100 days. Fifty-four percent think Trump is exceeding his executive powers, and 50 percent already think he's made the economy worse. 'We don't have a Free and Fair 'Press' in this Country anymore. We have a Press that writes BAD STORIES, and CHEATS, BIG, ON POLLS,' Trump posted just minutes after his first rant. 'IT IS COMPROMISED AND CORRUPT. SAD!' These polls indicate that voters think Trump has gone too far on essentially every key issue. And while the president is obviously very sensitive to negative press like this, it remains to be seen if it will actually cause him to change any of his positions. His posts above suggest that they won't. Trump is operating outside the realm of anyone's approval right now, much less the public's. Whether he'll be moved by these deeply negative results remains to be seen.

Trump breaks silence on his shocking new approval ratings with fiery rant
Donald Trump has called for investigations into a number of news organizations after new polls revealed some unfortunate approval ratings as he approaches his 100th day back in the White House. After winning the 2024 presidential election, Trump is set to mark his 100th day back in office tomorrow (April 29). Ahead of the milestone, news organizations including ABC News, The Washington Post and The New York Times have conducted polls to determine how members of the public are feeling about the POTUS and all the changes he's made since regaining his title from Joe Biden. It's no secret that Trump has been busy since he returned to office, targeting sports, history and education through various orders and implementing controversial tariffs, but how have these gone down well with the residents of his country? Well, not great, according to the polls. A joint ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll revealed that Trump has the lowest 100-day job approval rating of any president in the past 80 years, with 55 percent of people saying they disapprove of how Trump is handling his job as president. Meanwhile, a New York Times and Siena College poll was even more damning as it revealed an approval rating of just 42 percent, with 66 percent of respondents describing his second term so far as 'chaotic'. In the wake of the findings, Trump took to Truth Social in an attempt to brand the polls as fake news. The POTUS cited pollster John McLaughlin, who queried those behind the polls as he said The Times only included 37 percent of Trump 2024 voters, while the Washington Post/ABC poll only had 34 percent Trump 2024 voters. "Didn't we win popular vote with 50%?," McLaughlin wrote in a post on Twitter. Trump then referenced McLaughlin, writing: "Great Pollster John McLaughlin, one of the most highly respected in the industry, has just stated that The Failing New York Times Poll, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll, about a person named DONALD J. TRUMP, ME, are FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS. "The New York Times has only 37% Trump 2024 voters, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll has only 34% Trump Voters, unheard of numbers unless looking for a negative result, which they are." Trump went on to claim those behind the polls 'should be investigated for election fraud'. "They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse," he continued. Trump went on: "They suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK, almost only write negative stories about me no matter how well I am doing (99.9% at the Border, BEST NUMBER EVER!), AND ARE TRULY THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! I wish them well, but will continue to fight to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" In its methodology, The New York Times said that participants in its survey were chosen from a list of registered voters, with more weight given to respondents from demographic groups that are underrepresented among survey respondents to ensure that the results reflect the entire voting population. The ABC/Washington Post poll was conducted with a random national sample of 2,464 adults, with partisan divisions at 30-30-29 percent for Democrats-Republicans-independents.

'Enemy of the people': Donald Trump lashes out at 'sick media' over reports of lowest 100-day approval rating for president in 80 years
Donald Trump (File photo) US President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack against major media outlets on Monday, denouncing them as 'the enemy of the people' after several polls reported the lowest 100-day presidential approval rating in over 80 years. In a fiery post on his Truth Social platform, Trump slammed news outlets naming a few like- The New York Times, ABC News, The Washington Post, and even longtime conservative ally Fox News, accusing them of spreading "fake polls from fake news organizations." The post came after new surveys showed Trump's approval ratings hovering at historic lows - 37 per cent according to The New York Times and just 34 per cent in the ABC/Washington Post poll. "Great Pollster John McLaughlin, one of the most highly respected in the industry, has just stated that The Failing New York Times Poll, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll... are FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS," Trump wrote, referring to long-time Republican pollster John McLaughlin, a frequent critic of mainstream polling. Trump alleged that these polls were deliberately manipulated to paint a negative picture of his administration's early performance and called for an investigation into what he termed "election fraud" by pollsters. He went on to brand these organizations as "Negative Criminals," saying they consistently underestimate his support and then "apologize to their subscribers and readers" after he exceeds expectations at the ballot box. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This Device Is Helping People Beat the Heat Without AC Chill Mate Read More Undo "They suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome , and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK," Trump declared, adding that despite relentless negative coverage, his administration was delivering record-breaking results, particularly citing the US-Mexico border situation as '99.9 per cent' secured — a figure he called the "BEST NUMBER EVER." The outburst follows a challenging first 100 days of Trump's second term, marred by widespread criticism over economic turbulence, immigration crackdowns, and a rocky foreign policy start. According to historians and analysts, his current approval figures mark the lowest 100-day rating for a president since scientific polling began during Franklin D. Roosevelt's era. Despite the tensions, Trump in his message added a familiar rallying cry to his supporters: "I wish them well, but will continue to fight to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
