Not too many people manage to sustain a warm and loveable reputation over four decades in the music business, but Donegal legend Daniel O'Donnell has done just that.
Having toured all over the globe, had 12 gold-selling albums, seven silver-selling albums, 16 top 10 albums and 11 top 30 singles, one thing has prevailed over his 40-year music career – he's a good guy.
That was certainly the view of the staff at The Farmer's Kitchen in Drinagh, where he stayed overnight ahead of yet another sell-out show in The National Opera House on Tuesday night.
The singer retained his reputation as an unassuming gentleman as he milled around the hotel, chatting with staff and customers and happily posed for photos.
'We were absolutely honoured and super excited to welcome Daniel for an overnight stay,' hotel management said, before wishing him all the best for his show in the Opera House that night.
By all accounts the show was as good as ever as he flitted between country, folk, Irish and rock n' roll and as Daniel says, after forty years he's 'having far too much fun to stop now!'
