‘Simba's cooling duvet stopped me from overheating at night this summer'

The summer heat can make getting a good night's sleep feel impossible, so I put Simba's cooling duvet to the test to see if stopped overheating at night and helped me sleep better Whilst we gladly welcome the summer heat during the day, when it comes to the nighttime it's safe to say we're all a little less fond of it. Trying to sleep in a warm, stuffy room can be a nightmare and it's no surprise that all that sweating and tossing and turning leaves us feeling a lot less rested the next morning. If you're anything like me, the idea of sleeping with no covers at all is not an option, as I need something over me to feel comfortable and cosy. So I decided to swap my usual duvet for Simba's Summer Hybrid 4.5 Tog Duvet, which promises to help control your body heat to keep you comfortable all night. The Summer Hybrid Duvet comes in all sizes from a single to a superking, and now is the perfect time to snap it up thanks to Simba's current sale. A superking is usually priced at £229 but is now £194.65, saving you £35, whilst a double has been slashed by £27 from £179 to £152.15. Made with a lighter 4.5 tog fill, the duvet is just the right balance of airy whilst still having a little weight to it, which is how I like my duvets to feel. The gentle weight makes them feel luxurious as well as helping me feel more relaxed and settle myself down for the night, whilst the airiness helps it feel more cooling and less smothering in the heat. The filling is made from Simba's renew bio fibres which have a down-like feel to them which made it feel even more luxurious. I will say the filling and material were slightly noisy and rustled a little, which can take a little getting used to if you're used to other fibre fillings – although if you're already used to a down-filled duvet this probably won't bother you. The cover of the Summer Hybrid Duvet is also made from cotton which helps with breathability, as well as helping to wick sweat away from your body and improve air circulation. It's also been designed with Simba's Stratos 'cool touch technology ', which helps keep you feeling fresh and cool. Whilst I wouldn't say it was dramatically cool to the touch, the duvet was a marked improvement on my usual duvet in terms of cooling and breathability. I didn't wake up feeling sweaty or too hot, which had been happening more frequently during the heatwave. It's also machine washable, which is a huge bonus for me, and it comes with a handy storage bag so you can roll it up and tuck it away when the weather turns cold again. The quilted design also makes sure the filling doesn't shift or get too clumpy. Elsewhere The Fine Bedding Company also has a big sale on, slashing the price of its Smart Temperature 100% Cooling Cotton Duvet from £120 to £84 for a double. This duvet also has dynamic body temperature-regulating technology, which activates when sensing an increase in body temperature and provides continuous evaporative cooling by wicking moisture away from the body. Meanwhile at Dunelm you can also save 20% on the Fogarty Temperature Regulating Wool All Seasons Duvet, which comes with a 4.6 star rating from shoppers. It's made with a 100% New Zealand wool filling that makes it suitable for all seasons, helping keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Dunelm shoppers say £11.50 'cooling' duvet cover is 'perfect for hot nights'

'Fully recommend if you get to hot or struggle to sleep in heat.' While many of us are enjoying the gorgeous weather, some people are also struggling to keep cool during the evenings. While fans can be an effective solution for toasty nights, they can also be noisy and could keep users up during the night. Thankfully, Dunelm has an alternative solution that won't break the bank and will look stylish in your bedroom. Dunelm shoppers are currently raving over the Fogarty Cooling Cotton Duvet Cover that they say is "perfect for warm weather". With prices starting at £11.50 and ranging to £40, this cooling cover comes in seven different colours to perfectly match any bedroom aesthetic - including white, dark grey, sage green and blush pink. It should be noted that starting prices vary across the colours and as well as the sizes available. At the time of writing, the single is available for £11.50 in the dark grey and blush pink shades, however this price bumps up to £23 for the same size across the rest of the colours, reports the Liverpool Echo. Dunelm states that the Fogarty Cooling Cover is an "essential for your home" as it is naturally soft and cooling. Crafted from responsibly sourced cotton blended with TENCEL - a sustainable fabric made from wood pulp - this cover will make a great addition to any bedroom. The duvet cover is said to feature lyocell fibres "that are strong, wick moisture, and gentle on the skin". However, it should be noted to potential buyers that this duvet cover does not come with pillowcases, meaning shoppers will need to buy them separately. Dunelm is selling the pillowcases for £10 in five of the matching colours. Elsewhere, you can also get the Smart Temperature Cooling 100% Cotton Duvet Cover from The Fine Bedding Company. However, this brand is a bit more expensive with a single being priced at £34 and a super king cover retailing for £64. Next is also selling the White Cool Touch 200 Thread Count Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set, with the edition of a toddler cover to keep your children cool during the night. Starting at £20 and ranging up to £62, this cover comes with pillowcases so you won't need to spend any extra money. However, if shoppers are interested in the Fogarty Cooling Cotton Duvet Cover they aren't the only ones. With a 4.3 star rating, some shoppers have claimed that this cover has given them the "best night's sleep" after use. One happy shopper wrote: "Purchased both the duvet cover and fitted sheet and have to say it's probably one of the nicest sets I have. Lovely and soft and whilst I have heard it keeps you cool it definitely keeps you nice and snug also. Will be returning to buy another set in the dark grey as a nice contrast to the light grey I already have." Another added: "Perfect for warm weather! I originally had the bottom sheet, so glad we now have the quilt! Soft to touch, and during the night while it's been warm this has helped so much to go back to sleep! Fully recommend if you get to hot or struggle to sleep in heat." However, a few shoppers did grumble about the lack of pillowcases. One shopper said: "The material is quite cooling, but it's very thin and does crease a lot after a wash compared to my other 100 percent cotton bedsheets from Dunelm. It's ok overall, but wish it came with at a pair of pillows instead of having to buy it separately." Another also chimed in: "A lovely crisp white duvet although you have to buy the pillowcases separately. Needs quite a lot of ironing but looks great on the bed." Despite this, many shoppers gave this cooling cover high praise. One reviewer wrote: "Great quality and washes up well. My husband said it was the best nights sleep he'd had in a long time under this cover." A further five-star reviewer also gushed: "Just perfect for the hot nights. Feel cool all through the night without arms and legs hanging from your bed! I would definitely recommend this."
