Recap: OKC Blue loses penultimate game 111-107 to Sioux Falls Skyforce
The G League's OKC Blue suffered a 111-107 loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday. The road defeat dropped OKC's record to 17-16 on the season. It was the first of two straight against the Skyforce to close out the Blue's regular season.
Both teams were squared at 30 points apiece after the first quarter. The Blue gained separation on the scoreboard thanks to 37 points in the second frame. They entered halftime with a decisive 67-52 advantage. It looked like OKC was on the verge of a much-needed win.
Instead, the Skyforce fought back with a 27-18 scoring advantage in the third quarter. That shaved the Blue's lead to 85-79 entering the fourth frame. It didn't take long for Sioux Falls to make it a one-possession contest as Bryson Warren's 3-pointer made it an 87-84 game with over 10 minutes left.
Warren hit another 3-pointer down the stretch to finally give the Skyforce the go-ahead lead. They had a 102-100 advantage with three minutes left. Tied at 105 points with less than a minute left, Alondes Williams scored on a layup to give Sioux Falls a 107-105 advantage with 30 seconds left.
The Blue called a timeout but couldn't capitalize on a pair of looks on the other end. That sealed the final result as Skyforce nailed their free-throw attempts.
The Blue shot 42% from the field and went 10-of-35 (28.6%) from 3. They shot 10-of-11 on free throws. They had 20 assists on 38 baskets. Four Blue players scored double-digit points.
Meanwhile, the Skyforce shot 47% from the field and went 11-of-32 (34.4%) from 3. They shot 13-of-16 on free throws. They had 26 assists on 40 baskets. Five Skyforce players scored double-digit points.
