Groundbreaking ceremony held for Gayle and Tom Benson Ochsner Children's Hospital
JEFFERSON, La. (WGNO) — The groundbreaking for The Gayle and Tom Benson Ochsner Children's Hospital was held on Tuesday, April 29.
Ochsner officials said the hospital will be located on the Ochsner Medical Center campus in Jefferson.

According to Ochsner, the new hospital is estimated to bring 400 permanent new jobs and 200 construction jobs.
The facility will have a new surgical NICU unit to offer specialized care for babies needing surgery.

'Today we are announcing that those doctors that are sitting with us today will have a state-of-the-art hospital so they can continue to care for the most deserving, our children,' said Gayle Benson.
