Ryan Phillippe is sued by woman who claims her hair was set on FIRE at Beverly Hills restaurant
Ryan Phillippe is reportedly being sued by a woman who claims she was nearly set on fire at a restaurant in which he is invested. The 50-year-old actor — who recently revealed why his lost out on his 'dream role' in the Star Wars prequels — is being sued by Jody Sanders, according to TMZ, who alleges that her hair was set on fire at The Hideaway in Beverly Hills. She is also reportedly suing Jeffrey Best, the celebrity event planner and owner of the restaurant, as well as the restaurant itself. However, a source tells that Phillippe is not an owner of The Hideaway, and is instead only a minority investor in the restaurant who doesn't have any involvement in its day-to-day decisions. has contacted representatives for Phillippe and The Hideaway for comment. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Sanders alleges in her lawsuit that she was an attendee at a Hideaway event back in April 2024 when her scary encounter with the flames occurred. According to TMZ, she says she was seated at the restaurant's bar when 'unattended wax candle burning on the bar's surface' alleged burned her hair. It's unclear if she's alleging that her hair was merely singed, or if it burst into flames. Sanders is reportedly seeking unspecified damages. But source alleges that her claims were settled by The Hideaway's insurance company sometime last year, raising questions about the purpose of the lawsuit. Jeffrey Best — the mastermind behind Britney Spears' wedding to Sam Asghari and Madonna and Guy Oseary's Oscar parties — became a first-time restaurant owner when he opened The Hideaway with co-owners Sylvain Bitton and JT Torregiani. Phillippe appears to have been involved in promoting The Hideaway after it opened in 2022, but he appears to only be one of a group of investors, which also includes Diana Ross' son Evan Ross. Ryan spoke about how the restaurant is inspired by the 'vibe' of ''70s to '80s Baja, Mexico' in an interview with Cigar & Spirits Magazine. The restaurant — which is inspired by the food and atmosphere of Baja, California — is located below street level on Beverly Hills' iconic Rodeo Drive, which is famous for its upscale shops. Phillippe said the interior of The Hideaway was 'intentionally aged' and 'made to look like it's been here for some time,' which he compared to 'what a set designer would do in a movie.' 'This is a brand-new restaurant but look at the cracks around the coping,' the Cruel Intentions star noted. 'All of that is done with intention so it feels like a place that's been around for a long time.' The restaurant's menu suggests it's ideal for carnivores, with plenty of with plenty of fish, chicken and pork options, though there are also mushroom enchiladas on the dinner menu for vegans and vegetarians. But it's primarily a Mexican steakhouse with cuts of beef that go for as much as $125 (for an A5 Wagyu filet) and $145 (for an enormous bone-in tomahawk steak). In addition to his acting career, Phillippe is known for being the ex-husband of Reese Witherspoon, whom he was married to from 1999 to 2007. They share two children: 25-year-old daughter Ava and 21-year-old son Deacon, who bares a striking resemblance to his father.

Holiday park in North Wales on UK list of most popular camping destinations
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The weather is warming up and peak camping season is fast approaching. It is expected to be a good year for staycations and the early weather has been promising. This has seen Lexrope draw up a list of the 10 best camping spots in Britain. The team analysed hundreds of campsites across the UK to determine which locations are the most popular among campers. Their research combined four key metrics: average monthly search volume, number of reviews on average ratings, and Instagram hashtag popularity. Each factor was given equal weighting (25%) to create a comprehensive 'Camping Popularity Score' that identifies the true favourites among UK campers. There was one site in North Wales that made the cut. Plassey Holiday Park in Wrexham county was at number seven. A check on TripAdvisor shows why with nearly all its 1,700+ reviews scoring it as excellent or good. The Brookshaw family acquired the Plassey estate near Wrexham in 1960 and ran it as a dairy and arable farm up until the early 1970s. But then Tony and wife Della Brookshaw took the decision to develop land into a caravan park and later a golf course and retail centre, while the former milking parlour became a restaurant. It has become one of the best known holiday parks in the region - earning rave reviews from those who visit. I always recommend securing your pitch at least three months ahead, especially for summer weekends and bank holidays. 'If you're set on experiencing these camping gems but can't get a booking, consider visiting during shoulder seasons – May, early June or September offer gorgeous weather with half the crowds. School term-time weekdays are like hitting the camping jackpot for those without kids. 'Don't despair if these sites are full – most have equally brilliant alternatives nearby." What's On Abu Dhabi Awards 2025: Here are the winners
The class of 2025 has been announced… Last night, on the lawns of the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, we were joined by close to 600 of Abu Dhabi's own shining stars from the dining, leisure and entertainment industries for an evening of celebration and recognition, as we unveiled the winners of the What's On Abu Dhabi Awards 2025. And while we don't like to brag, it's a pretty big deal. These awards are widely recognised as the city's most important leisure and entertainment awards ceremony. We honoured the city's winning places to eat, fabulous spots to relax at and unmissable destinations that have played host to electrifying spectacles for the ages . Across a total of 37 categories, the ceremony covered everything from Abu Dhabi's best eats, to the city's record-smashing concerts and sporting events, plus the top spots in town for pool days, ladies' nights, evening brunches and more. For the majority of the categories we deferred to the wisdom of you – Abu Dhabi's crowds — to vote for the winners, and there were also four big prize winners, chosen by us, the What's On team. These awards went to individuals and venues deemed to have made outstanding contributions towards Abu Dhabi's leisure and entertainment scene, adding to the reasons that make it an even better place to live in every year. All that said, let us introduce you to the winners of the What's On Abu Dhabi Awards 2025. Editor's Choice Awards Whether it's their signature, 1200g Tomahawk chop, the 34-layer Tribune Tower chocolate cake or the pursuit of Gatsby Gold that has you booking a table here, Chef Marshall Roth and team have fast earned this restaurant a reputation as a true 'capo' on Abu Dhabi's dining scene. This Prohibition-Era style steakhouse on Al Maryah Island will transport you to the Windy City a la the Roaring Twenties, in the back seat of a Town Sedan no less. And don't forget their private dining room tucked away underground, The Hideaway, that exudes an indescribable mystique while being flawlessly hospitable from the moment your elevator doors open. @butcherandstill Newcomer of the Year: Strawfire by Ross Shonhan When a restaurateur raised on a family-run farm Down Under decided to join hands with this palatial address in the UAE capital, the success of their combined vision was all but guaranteed. Less than a year since its opening, diners regularly head home after a meal at this restaurant, claiming to have had 'one of the best meals' of their lives. Add in jaw-dropping interiors, seven-star regalia, the inimitable flavours of Warayaki cooking and the largest Shimenawa rope in the world, and you have a one-of-a-kind concept that's here to stay. @strawfireabudhabi Chef of the Year: Hassana El Baroudi Born and raised in Beirut, this culinary artist is known for putting a spin on traditional Lebanese flavors with her modern culinary wizardry. She was raised in a family of foodies with a grandfather who owned a renowned seaside eat, and years later, she pursued formal training at the KICA International Culinary Academy and at KICA-École Ducasse-ENSP. Today, she is the Head Chef of Abu Dhabi's Mosaic Restaurant, and several other brands under the group's umbrella, that've made their mark in the UAE capital in under a decade by being some of the tastiest, homeliest, and healthiest food you can get your hands on in Abu Dhabi. Preserving their Levantine heritage while reimagining classics from the region, this chef continues to inspire with her authentic, yet contemporary menu. @ Homegrown Restaurant of the Year: Desert Lotus This homely bistro with origins in Abu Dhabi, is located in the city's scenic Al Raha Beach area, and regularly serves up a unique fusion of tasty Thai and Japanese cuisines. While you're invited to feast on traditional dishes like their Pad Thai and the Tom Yum soup alongside fresh sushi rolls and teppanyaki grilling, you're also guaranteed a side of stunning sea views. But what powers the brand is the passion of Chef Bua, who founded the restaurant after an earthquake in Nepal inspired her to contribute to relief efforts by preparing meals. Whether it's the caring vibe of this homegrown eat, or interactive experiences such as live teppanyaki and sushi-making classes that keep the crowds flowing in, we're proud to announce them as What's On's Homegrown Restaurant for 2025. @desertlotus_restaurant Restaurants This beloved all-day dining concept is located within The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, in the city's Khor Al Maqta'a area. For its first ever timepiece, this fundamentally disruptive company combined gold with a rubber strap in a case with a design inspired by a ship's porthole (hublot in French). Thus, the Art of Fusion was born, blending tradition, innovation, craftsmanship, worlds and talents. It became the brand's aesthetic and technical signature. This identity was strengthened in 2005 with the Big Bang, which attested to unrivalled know-how in terms of complications, manufacture movements and state-of-the-art materials. Carbon, titanium, ceramic and sapphire have been developed on this model to technical extremes. This ground-breaking, high-quality approach to watchmaking is summed up in its philosophy 'Be First, Unique and Different.' Leading to further collections with innovative designs: Classic Fusion, Shaped Collections including Spirit of Big Bang, Square Bang and Manufacture Pieces. These draw on high levels of craftsmanship, both in terms of the materials so dear to Hublot (such as Magic and King Gold, brightly-colored ceramics and sapphires) and its manufacture movements (Unico chronograph, Meca-10 and high complications such as the Tourbillon, the Cathedral Minute Repeater and the specific Manufacture Pieces movements).
