More than €33k raised to repatriate body of Kerry woman who died in Spain

The Listowel woman died suddenly last week More than €33,000 has been raised to repatriate the body of a Kerry woman who died in Spain. Diane Moloney from Listowel died suddenly on May 30th, in the country where she lived and worked. Her eldest brother Lorcan has set up a fundraiser to help bring her home, and in less than 24 hours, it exceeded its goal of €20,000. 'It is with great sadness that we are setting up this fundraiser to help bring my sister Diane home to Ireland from Spain and alleviate the financial burden associated with this,' the GoFundMe page reads. Diane Moloney News in 90 Seconds - 5th June 2025 'On the 30th May 2025, we received the devastating news that Diane had passed away suddenly in Spain. 'Diane was born and raised in Listowel, Ireland, and then moved to Spain where she [taught] in a childcare facility. 'Diane touched the hearts of everyone that she met in her short life with her beautiful smile, giggly laughter and always looking after her two brothers (even though I am the eldest one). 'The death of my sister has broken our hearts and of those who knew Diane. 'We appreciate everyone's support and kindness at this very difficult time, it means so much to us. Our main priority at the moment is getting Diane home as soon as possible.' Organisers also thanked The Kevin Bell Repatriation trust for their 'support, guidance and kindness towards our family.' Paying tribute to her, a former employer took to Facebook, to remember the beloved childcare worker. 'We are heartbroken to hear of the tragic passing of Diane Moloney, who worked with us at Nai íonad na Cille a few years ago before moving to Spain. 'Diane was a kind and caring colleague, and we have such fond memories of her time with us.
