Castle Location Guide in Elden Ring Nightreign

In the rich and enigmatic landscape of Elden Ring, the Castle of Nightreign looms like a dark sentinel, a fortress filled with peril, hidden truths, and priceless treasures. Beginning players' journeys through a dark, cryptic castle, players are immediately introduced to an open world maze where every corner holds a distinct point of interest, treasure, or terrifying boss. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now This guide will lead you through the important areas of Nightreign Castle, concentrating on how to get the most out of your journeys and slay the castle's deadly denizens. The Castle's Hidden Basement–An Important Launching Pad When first visiting Nightreign Castle, players will be quickly impressed by the lower levels of the castle fortress, most notably the castle dungeon. To unlock this world, travel to the jellyfish's riverbank home and discover a secret route that takes you deep inside. Before you go in, be sure to grab the Boost Rune Acquisition buff from the small tree nearby. This is important because you'll use this early on your journey to increase the amount of runes you gain by defeating enemies. Image via: FromSoftware The basement is both the residence of countless deadly foes and a central location for advancement. A challenging boss awaits you in those depths, and though that sounds daunting, it is indeed very beatable by Day 2 of your quest if you're on a level of 5 or 6. Negating this giant boss unlocks a fog gate, granting admittance to another chamber with a red talisman automobile chest. Fair warning as you start to claim your jet set premiums, a new menace may be hiding on the rung, so jump smart. A Reward Well-Deserved Once you've taken down the basement boss and eliminated the first wave of enemies, make your way upstairs to the second floor of the castle. Here you'll find a hidden treasure chest with a Dormant Power orb, allowing your whole team to choose from three random talismans in between rounds. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Talismans first introduced talismans into The Lands Between, granting powerful buffs to your character, making you more formidable for the fights to come. Make sure to pick carefully though, as the benefits each of these talismans offer can significantly change how you would tackle combat. Knights: A Staggering Obstacle Once you've got the talisman, it's time to unlock the gate and face off against the minions lurking on the castle ramparts. If you're unfortunate enough to run into Banished Knights or Crucible Knights, it's best to begin on the bottom floor and build upward. It's worth pushing past the initial grunts toward these elite enemies which drop huge swaths of runes when defeated, a major boon to your build progression. If Giant trolls show up instead, the plan needs to be adjusted. Start your climb from the roof of the castle so you're not subjected to the worst devastation by their super lethal pot smash attacks. Elden Ring Nightreign: Full Wylder Remembrance Questline (Complete Guide) - All Unlocks & Rewards So whether you're fighting knights or giants, keep in mind that taking down these hard enemies will earn you some powerful Dormant Power orbs. These orbs are key to unlocking more destructive potential for your character, so resist the urge to avoid the fights. The last stage of your tour through Nightreign Castle takes you to a crumbled wall at the top of the castle. You'll have to jump and climb up this decaying building to get to the roof, where this final boss awaits you. Train well, fearless adventurers, for this brutal beast will push you to your very limits and only the most badass of explorers will make it out unscathed. Just like every other battle in the game, it's best to come into this fight prepared, making sure you have plenty of healing items and are equipped for a long-term battle. Beating this boss will signal the end of your journey through the castle, and you'll be rewarded with a huge sum of runes and a chance to earn more Dormant Power orbs. Rewards Nightreign Castle is filled with challenging foes and powerful bosses. If you clear out the castle's enemies and defeat its fearsome bosses, Nightreign Castle is sure to reward players with valuable loot. The most significant goodies primarily consist of the talismans, which provide switch-on-a-dime, game-altering buffs, and Dormant Power orbs, which increase your combat strength. If you're really good at killing all foes (even the toughest elite Banished and Crucible Knights), you can get more than 300,000 runes in just 1 expedition. Elden Ring Nightreign - Noklateo, the Shrouded City Secret (Shifting Earth) Guide - How to Complete Nightreign Castle is more than a proving ground for would-be heroes. It promises unmatched reward to those who succeed and overcome its myriad perils. Come ready, plan on spending time, and make sure to look in every nook and cranny to fully enjoy all the rewards that await you on your trip through this legendary Elden Ring setting.

It took mere hours, but Elden Ring Nightreign already has duos in development thanks to the modding icon behind Dark Souls and Armored Core co-op

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The modding icon who added seamless co-op to several FromSoftware hits - including Dark Souls Remastered, Armored Core 6, and the base Elden Ring - has now turned their gaze to the developer's new multiplayer-focused game, Elden Ring Nightreign. Elden Ring Nightreign squeezes the open-world epic into tight, 45-minute-ish rounds designed around co-op play. But at the time of writing, you can only enter The Lands Between solo or in trios - there isn't an option to start a round with only two players. Hypothetically, the only way to play duos is to begin a match with three people and hope one of them leaves. Enter modder Yui, who got a two-player Elden Ring Nightreign session up and running just hours after the game's mammoth launch. In the description for the short demonstration of the in-development mod, Yui mentions that the mod "runs without connecting to the matchmaking server, [so] it is possible to use additional mods during gameplay." The modder also says they "made it for fun," but hopefully it sees a proper release some day - if FromSoftware doesn't add a duos matchmaking option first, that is. Elden Ring Nightreign director Junya Ishizaki recently admitted the team somewhat "neglected the duos aspect" while making the game since everyone was so focused on balancing trios to a tee. The lack of duos hasn't gone unnoticed, though, as Nightreign's Steam user reviews are the second-lowest in FromSoft history. Of course, simply adding a two-player mode and balancing the game around two players are different things entirely (the latter probably takes a lot more time to get just right), but I can imagine it's worth it for the couples who want to spend their date nights in Elden Ring Nightreign without getting interrupted by a third-wheeler. For now, you can check out Yui's other swell co-op mods on NexusMods. Stay prepared with our guide on all Elden Ring Nightreign classes and tier list

Alex Garland Set to Direct Live-Action ELDEN RING Movie for A24 and Bandai Namco — GeekTyrant

Alex Garland is stepping into The Lands Between. A24 and Bandai Namco have confirmed that Garland, known for Ex Machina , Annihilation , and most recently Warfare , will direct and write the upcoming live-action adaptation of Elden Ring . Elden Ring is the awesome beutifully-made genre-defining 2022 action-RPG that combined the creativity of Hidetaka Miyazaki with the fantasy myth-weaving talents of George R.R. Martin. The result was a dark fantasy world crawling with grotesque monsters, twisted lore, and enough player deaths to form a religion. Garland had been rumored for the project for some time, but now it's officially locked in. The film will be produced by Peter Rice, alongside DNA's Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich, Martin himself, and Vince Gerardis. This movie is going to need a serously talented and creative team because this is going to be an massive and ambitious fantasy epic. The game was developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, was a massive success from day one, shipping over 30 million units globally. It dominated the 2022 Game Awards, taking home Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, and Best Role-Playing Game. The Elden Ring universe is expanding in every direction. On May 30, Elden Ring: Nightreign drops, which is an intense, cooperative experience built around navigating punishing scenarios. Then, later this year, the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition arrives for the Nintendo Switch 2. This all-in-one version bundles the acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree DLC with new armor sets and appearance customization. No release date yet for the film has been announced yet, but one thing's clear: with Garland steering the ship, we're not getting a typical fantasy blockbuster. I'm expecting him to deliver something epic, bold, cerebral, and haunting. Source: Variety

George RR Martin teases Elden Ring movie but says there's a catch

Game of Thrones creator George RR Martin has teased a potential Elden Ring movie but admitted that there is one major obstacle that could prevent his involvement with it. Elden Ring was co-written by Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki and became one of the best-selling games of the year upon its release in 2022. The role-playing game, which was developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, follows an exiled warrior exploring the dark fantasy world of 'The Lands Between'. They are tasked with restoring the power of the Elden Ring to eventually become the Elden Lord and restore order or chaos to the land. The game won rave reviews and received hundreds of awards on its release but so far there has been no sequel confirmed. Martin was asked about a new game by IGN recently but sidestepped the issue and instead dropped a hint that something bigger could be in the works. 'Well, I can't say too much about it, but there is some talk about making a movie out of Elden Ring,' he told the website. However, Martin caveated that announcement by saying he could be prevented from being involved because he's still working on the next A Song of Fire and Ice book, the long-awaited The Winds of Winter. 'We'll see if that [the Elden Ring movie] comes to pass and what the extent of my involvement was, I don't know,' he told IGN. 'I'm a few years behind with my latest book, so that also limits the amount of things that I can do.' Martin began writing Winds of Winter in 2010, which will be the sixth novel in his series but has been hit by numerous delays. As of 2023, he said that he had written more than 1000 pages in the novel but was still 'struggling' with the manuscript. In December 2024, he admitted that might never actually finish the novel. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said 'Unfortunately, I am 13 years late. Every time I say that, I'm [like], 'How could I be 13 years late?' I don't know, it happens a day at a time.' 'But that's still a priority," he added. "A lot of people are already writing obituaries for me. [They're saying] 'Oh, he'll never be finished.' Maybe they're right. I don't know. I'm alive right now! I seem pretty vital!'

Elden Ring Nightreign arrives on May 30

Hark thee, foul tarnished. Those who have yearned for fresh battles against hideously wicked beasts in The Lands Between need not wait an age for such misadventures. Elden Ring Nightreign has a release date, and it's not too far away. The co-op title will land on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC on May 30. We first learned about the Elden Ring spinoff at The Game Awards in December. FromSoftware's original blockbuster game arrived in 2022 and that was followed by the mammoth Shadow of the Erdtree expansion last year. This time around, you can team up with two other players or go it alone in a procedurally generated version of Limgrave, the first main area of Elden Ring. You'll be able to choose one of eight Nightfarers, each with their own set of abilities, to play as on your run. The aim is to survive three in-game days and nights until a battle with a final boss. FromSoft appears to have taken a little inspiration from battle royale games like Fortnite, as the playable area shrinks over time. Even if your entire team sees the dreaded "you died" screen before completing a run, you'll still receive a relic you can use to upgrade your characters and align them more with your personal playstyle. Some lucky ducks will actually be able to try Elden Ring Nightreign in closed beta tests that are taking place this weekend. Pre-orders for the game (which of course has several different editions) are now available too.
