IPL 2025 Final: Shankar Mahadevan praised Indian jawans and appreciated their efforts in keeping the country safe.
Shankar Mahadevan set the stage on fire with his performance at the closing ceremony of the Indian Premier League 2025 on Tuesday. The singer and music composer, who was also joined by his sons Siddharth and Shivam Mahadevan, evoked a deep feeling of patriotism as he also appreciated the Indian Army's strike on terrorism – Operation Sindoor.
Shankar Mahadevan praised Indian jawans and appreciated their efforts in keeping the country safe. He then sang a series of patriotic songs, including Lakshya, Ae Watan Mere Watan, Kandhon Se Milte Kadam, Ye Desh Hai Vee Jawano Ka, Lehra Do, Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani and Maa Tujhe Salaam.

Earlier, Shankar Mahadevan also took to his Instagram handle and shared, informing that he will be in Ahmedabad to perform at the finals. 'Honoured to perform for the armed forces tonight at the @iplt20 finals in Ahmedabad!! along with @ @shivammahadevan , @prakriti_giri and @shrinidhighatate!! We will offer our gratitude and Salutations through music to the armed forces. My fellow Indians… join us in sending them some love and respect !! Jai Hind .. and of course May the best team win!" he had written.
IPL 2025 final is taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Two teams competing for the trophy are – Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Talking about Operation Sindoor, on May 7 this year, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that the Indian Air Force had hit multiple terror infrastructure sites in PoK and Pakistan's Bahawalpur region. The strikes, carried out from within Indian territory, were described as 'measured and non-escalatory." Indian Army's official handle also posted on social media, 'Justice is served. Jai Hind," confirming the action.
Following this, several actors and filmmakers from the film industry also took to their respective social media handles to support the army and laud Operation Sindoor. Among others, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Preity Zinta, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Rohit Shetty and Milind Soman also expressed support for the operation.
