Saint Etienne's Sarah Cracknell, Pete Wiggs, and Bob Stanley, photo by Rob Baker Ashton Saint Etienne have announced announced a new album, and they're saying it's their final one. International, the British indie-pop trio's follow-up to The Night, is out September 5 via Heavenly. The new album is led by the single 'Glad,' which was co-written and co-produced with the Chemical Brothers' Tom Rowlands and features Doves' Jez Williams on guitar. Watch the accompanying video, directed by Scrub, below. 'We asked Tom if he had any songs in progress that might suit Saint Etienne, and he sent a backing track that he'd been working on with Jez from Doves,' Saint Etienne vocalist Sarah Cracknell said in a statement. 'We fell in love with it straight away, and the top line melody and words for 'Glad' came easy.' Pete Wiggs added, 'The song is about taking pleasure in everyday things like nature and the outdoors when life is otherwise getting you down.' Along with Tom Rowlands and Jez Williams, International has contributions from Confidence Man, Erol Alkan, Vince Clarke, Nick Heyward, Orbital's Paul Hartnoll, and Xenomania's Tim Powell. Formed in London in 1990, by childhood friends Wiggs and Bob Stanley, Saint Etienne put out two singles that same year—'Kiss and Make Up' and their cover of Neil Young's 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart'—before they added Cracknell for 'Nothing Can Stop Us.' All three songs appeared on the band's 1991 debut, Foxbase Alpha, which kicked off a decade-defining run of albums, most notable among them 1993's sophomore effort So Tough, 1994's Tiger Bay, and 1998's Good Humor. Wiggs, Stanley, and Cracknell became beloved for their blend of twee indie-pop and contemporary club sound, which balanced an alluringly cosmopolitan sheen with charm, wit, and approachability. After 2005's Tales From Turnpike House, Saint Etienne took an extended break from recording. Since their return, in 2012, with Words and Music by Saint Etienne, however, the band has consistently put out new records, among them Home Counties (2017) and I've Been Trying to Tell You (2021). According to a press release, 'The group aren't splitting up as such—they still remain the best of friends after 35 years recording together—but they don't feel like they want to go on forever and wanted to go out with a bang.' The duke, who is Prince George's godfather, inherited his title and a vast land and property portfolio at the age of 25 and is worth £243 million less than the estimate given by The Sunday Times last year. The list shows the majority of people featured made their millions on their own but four were born into money, according to the publication. Daniel Radcliffe made his millions appearing in the Harry Potter films (Ian West/PA) Robert Watts, compiler of The Sunday Times Rich List, said: 'Our 40 under 40 list showcases many of the country's brightest stars from the worlds of tech, fashion, music and sport. Almost all of these people built their fortunes themselves and their number includes some who left school with few, if any, qualifications. 'A third of our list didn't attend university. At least 11 of our entries were born overseas, underlining the draw our country continues to hold for ambitious, talented young stars to build their reputations and businesses. 'We know many of our readers find the stories inspiring of how the entrepreneurs featured built their ventures. It will be fascinating to watch which of this year's line-up will prosper in the years ahead.' The 2025 Sunday Times Rich List charts the wealth of the 350 richest people in the UK and is based on identifiable wealth, including land, property, other assets such as art and racehorses, or significant shares in publicly quoted companies. It excludes bank accounts, to which the paper has no access. The 40 under 40 list details individuals with the biggest fortunes aged 40 or under as of May 1 2025.

Hikmat AlKaitoob shares her morning to evening beauty routine

Beauty by Sarah Joseph 13 hours ago My mornings are about discipline and intention. The first thing I do is pray—it's my moment of gratitude and grounding before the day even begins. Then, I hydrate with warm lemon water and move straight into skincare because taking care of yourself is the first step to looking and feeling powerful. My routine is simple but effective—cleanser, vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and SPF. Once I've taken care of myself, I review my schedule, align my priorities, and step into the day with clarity and confidence. How does your evening routine differ? Evenings are about unwinding and resetting. The energy shifts from 'getting things done' to 'recharging for the next day.' Skincare at night is about repair, so I use richer products—double cleansing, hydrating serums, retinol, and a night cream. I like to light a candle, disconnect from screens, and reflect on the day—what went well, what I can improve. Before I sleep, I pray again because no matter how chaotic the day was, faith in God keeps me centered. What are your go-to skincare products? Quality over quantity—I don't believe in cluttering my routine with unnecessary steps. A strong cleanser, a hydrating serum, and SPF are non-negotiable. I love a good vitamin C serum for brightness and a powerful night cream to keep my skin looking fresh. And of course, a great eye cream—because no matter how busy you are, tired eyes should never be part of your look. Are you a fan of masks? Absolutely. If I have an event, I'll use a hydrating mask the night before to get that glow. If my skin is feeling dull, I go for a brightening mask. If I need a deep cleanse, a clay mask does the job. How would you describe your approach to makeup? Effortless and simple, but elevated. I don't believe in hiding behind makeup—I use it to enhance, not to mask. Good skin is the foundation of any look, so I keep my base fresh and radiant. A little sculpting, a signature lip, and defined eyes—that's my formula. Makeup should empower you, not overwhelm you. What can always be found in your makeup bag? A perfect rose pink/nude lipgloss and a travel-size fragrance. Which fragrances are your current favourites? I love fragrances that ,ake a statement—bold, sophisticated, and unforgettable. Right now, I'm drawn to rich, warm scents with notes of oud and amber. I have been currently using The Night by Frederic Malle and A Goodnight Kiss by Roja. Talk us through your hair routine. Healthy hair is a priority, so I focus on care over rough styling. I usually do twice a week hydrating masks at the hairdresser. When I style it, I go for volume and movement—nothing too forced, just effortless and polished. What is the most unusual item in your makeup bag? A mini magnifying mirror – it helps me closely examine the finer details. A tiny vial of oud oil – it's my signature touch whenever I need a little extra presence. The Hero Buys Aēsop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque Dhs175.
