Comedian Alistair McGowan pulls pints in Powys pub
Comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan paid a visit to a Welshpool pub and even did a stint behind the bar during his stay.
Welshpool pub The Owl and the Pussycat welcomed comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan yesterday (Thursday, June 5) afternoon.
The pub, located on Hall Street, said that the comedian, who has lived in Ludlow for the past few years, had been passing through the town and also wished him and his partner a happy anniversary.
'It was a pleasure to have impressionist and comic Alistair McGowan in the Owl this afternoon whilst passing through town. Wishing him and his partner a happy anniversary too.
'If you ever need a job Alistair McGowan, you can come back and pull a pint.'
Known for his impressions of celebrities like David Beckham, Gary Lineker, Tony Blair, Prince Charles and Terry Wogan, the comedian won a BAFTA for his sketch show The Big Impression.
He has also featured in dramatic performances such as a BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens' Bleak House, a lead role in the detective series Mayo, and teen drama Skins.
He has also worked in theatre and appeared in the West End in productions of Cabaret, The Mikado, Pygmalion, and Little Shop of Horrors, the last of which earned him a Laurence Olivier Award nomination.
