Police line streets around York Minster during funeral rehearsal for PC killed on A19
Police lined the streets around York Minster in preparation for the funeral of a policewoman killed while off-duty on the A19.
A funeral rehearsal took place at York Minster this morning (Wednesday, February 12), ahead of tomorrow's service remembering PC Rosie Prior at the cathedral.
PC Prior, 45, and Ryan Welford, 41, died after being struck by a passing lorry on the A19 near Bagby on the morning of Saturday, January 11.
Officers lined Duncombe Place this morning to prepare for the service, which is expected to be attended by more than 800 people.
North Yorkshire Police said it will be a full ceremonial police funeral.
Members of the public will not be able to enter the Minster for the service but are welcome to line the route the funeral cortege will take along Duncombe Place, the force said.
The service will be live-streamed for the public to watch via York Minster's YouTube channel.

PC Prior, a response officer based in York, stopped to help after a crash on the A19 which involved an Audi and a black Ford Focus.
She and Mr Welford were standing on the verge of the road when they were hit by the lorry.
