The event marked the successful completion of Jica's project titled "The Project for the Improvement of Facilities and Laboratory Equipment at the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos. Funded through a 2.5 billion yen Grant Aid agreement signed in March 2011, the initiative aimed to enhance the quality of engineering education and research in Laos.
