Whoopi Goldberg ditches the bra: 50 years of comfort over conformity
Whoopi Goldberg shared that it has been over 50 years since she has worn a bra. Image: X US actress Whoopi Goldberg shockingly revealed that she hasn't worn a bra in over 50 years. The 69-year-old made this revelation on one of the episodes of 'The View' on May 20 when she and her co-hosts, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah, were conversing about 'Underwear Do's and Don'ts". While they were debating about the easiest ways to put on a bra, Goldberg was quiet until Hostin asked her which method she uses to put on a bra. She revealed, 'I don't wear one. I have not worn a bra in 50 years.' Video Player is loading. BEST WAY TO PUT ON A BRA? The co-hosts weigh in after two of the stars of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' debated the right way to put on a bra on their podcast 'Reasonably Shady.' — The View (@TheView) May 20, 2025 While Behar added that she left like letting her boobs loose as bras are uncomfortable. 'You know what I feel like doing right now? I feel like letting these girls loose,' Behar joked. It's a known fact that women wear bras because their breasts need support. And as much as this is considered an everyday undergarment, sometimes it can get a little uncomfortable and overwhelming. Which is why some women like Goldberg prefer comfort, choosing a no-bra option. However, as much as not wearing a bra might feel comfortable there are disadvantages as well as advantages that come along with that decision. Advantages of not wearing a bra: According to an article by Ria Bhagwat on the 'Real Simple' website, there are benefits of not wearing a bra which includes refining your muscle tone and improving your skin's health. 'Not wearing a bra forces the muscles in your chest and back to work harder to support your breasts, and this engagement may lead to improved muscle tone over time,' they wrote. They added: 'Going braless, even for short periods, can help prevent painful chafing and rubbing along the shoulders, rib and back." Disadvantages of not wearing a bra: Not wearing a bra will eventually lead to your breasts sagging or even back problems. Several years of not wearing a bra will lead to your breasts sagging, especially if you have bigger breasts.

Jawando announces run for Montgomery County executive
Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, right, gives remarks after County Executive Marc Elrich endorsed Jawando to succeed him in the position next year. (Photo by William J. Ford/Maryland Matters) At-Large Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando (D) said Wednesday he will run to replace current County Executive Marc Elrich (D), who is term-limited and cannot run for a third term next year. Elrich was on hand Wednesday night with at least 200 others for Jawando's announcement at Citizens and Culture in Silver Spring. 'People need to know you're going to fight. If they know you're going to fight, they respect you. They deal with you,' Elrich said. 'That's one of the things that I like about Will, and what I think he brings to this race is that kind of leadership. 'The other thing is independence. You cannot elect the county executive who already has millions of dollars from developers,' he said. Other speakers included fellow Democratic County Councilmembers Laurie-Anne Sayles and Kristin Mink, and former 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' cast member Candiace Dillard Bassett. Support also came from Prince George's County State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy (D), who is heavily favored in a June 3 special election for county executive there to fill out the term of former Executive Angela Alsobrooks (D), who was elected to the U.S. Senate last fall. 'It matters who you elect as executives in this capital region,' said Braveboy, pointing to the challenges from the Trump administration for local governments. 'I can't think of a brighter, smarter, tougher person for Montgomery County than you. We're all about diversity, equity and inclusion. We're going to keep talking about it.' Jawando, 42, was elected in 2018 to an at-large council seat from the county of 1 million people, the state's largest. He's an attorney who's worked in the U.S. Senate for then-Sen. Barack Obama and for former Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown. He was the first to announce a bid for the Democratic nomination to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin, but he withdrew in October 2023. SUBSCRIBE: GET THE MORNING HEADLINES DELIVERED TO YOUR INBOX On Wednesday, Jawando highlighted some of his priorities as county executive, such as supporting rent stabilization and affordable housing, continuing to invest in the public schools and supporting small businesses, which he said represent about 80% of county businesses. He touched on the importance of diversity and the 'beautiful tapestry' at the restaurant and throughout the county. He talked about his family, including his parents, a Nigerian father and white mother who moved to Montgomery from his mother's home state of Kansas in 1980. Besides Jawando walking on stage and his wife, Michele, giving rousing remarks, some of the biggest applause came when he mentioned potholes. 'I promise to fix your potholes in your neighborhood. I know that's a problem,' he said. 'When you have good streets, you have good commerce, and you have good safety. It's a good thing.' At least two other candidates have announced bids for county executive. Celeste Iroha, a registered medical assistant, was the first person to announce in March, according to Bethesda Today, whike At-Large County Councilmember Evan Glass (D) said Wednesday he qualified to use the county's public financing option. Glass, who was the first openly LGBTQ+ member of the council when elected in 2018, would become the first as county executive, if elected. County Councilmember Andrew Friedson (D) is expected to also enter the county executive race. Montgomery and Prince George's aren't the only counties getting new leaders. Howard County Executive Calvin Ball (D) and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman (D) are both term limited and cannot seek a third term next year. In Baltimore County, former state Sen. Kathy Klausmeier (D) was appointed replace County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. when he was elected to Congress last fall, but she is not expected to seek reelection next year. Baltimore County Councilman Pat Young (D), one of four Democrats eyeing the executive's seat, announced Wednesday he will be the first candidate in the race to fund his campaign through public financing. The council approved the law in 2021 and funds will be available for disbursements next month for the 2026 election cycle. Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater (D) and Harford County Executive Robert Cassilly (R) are both able to run for reelection next year.

Ashley Darby Speaks Out on Mia Thornton's 'RHOP' Exit: 'This is Not an Easy Process' (Exclusive)
Ashley Darby is looking for love. The OG of The Real Housewives of Potomac stars alongside other housewives in Bravo's Love Hotel, the reality TV network's brand new dating series. The show follows Darby, her RHOP buddy Gizelle Bryant, RHOC star Shannon Beador and RHONY alum Luann de Lesseps as they travel to Los Cabos, Mexico, to find their one true love in a pool of eligible bachelors. For Darby, this series has been something she's wanted to do for a long time. "Andy Cohen will tell you that I have been asking, begging and pleading for something like this for the past two and a half years," she quipped in an exclusive interview with Parade. Darby confessed that not only did she want a Bravo dating show, but other fellow Bravo stars, including Kenya Moore and Sutton Stracke (who aren't on Season 1 at least), also liked the idea. "When finally, the powers that be listened to the ladies and gave us what we wanted, I knew that it was going to be a fantastic thing," she said. "So I packed my bags and ran to Cabo." Related: ' Unlike other dating shows, the four contestants are extremely well-known, with an audience that has followed their personal love lives for the better part of a decade. That layer adds stakes to the experience, and as Ashley puts it, allows viewers to watch them "redefine" what love means to them. "None of us have been in this situation where these men were vetted," she explains. "We've all dated our share, and obviously haven't had the best to know that we were putting our faith in the hands of whoever were counting these men, was a little nervewrecking but also exciting." She adds that they all had to learn to "trust the process." What surprised Ashley the most about this experience? Just how real the journey became for her. "I didn't expect to care or to be as invested as I actually became," she said. "I thought I was going to go and play this game of chess, and do my thing, but surprisingly, I really developed real feelings, and I allowed myself to fall into this web of love and I didn't think I was going to. I was really guarded about it ... but it overtook me. I really leaned into the experience." Related: Darby also shared her thoughts on the latest news coming out of The Real Housewives of Potomac: Mia Thornton's departure from the series. Just hours after Thornton took to Instagram with her announcement, Darby told Parade that she understands that a show like The Real Housewives "can be challenging." "This is not an easy process," Darby said. "I can attest first hand. I know that when things are in the shitter, and everyone has an opinion on your life and you have to answer some hard questions, it can be very challenging and it's mentally taxing. If Mia is not in a place where she can handle that and deal with that, then I support and I'm happy that she is making the right decision for herself to leave the show." "That's most important," she added. "Getting her life together, making sure her children are happy and taken care of, those are the priorities that she needs to focus on and I'm glad, hopefully, that she's doing that." Bravo's Love Hotel premieres Sunday, April 27th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo, with episodes streaming next day on Peacock.

Real Housewives of Potomac star makes a sudden shock exit just before Season 10 filming begins
With filming about to commence on Season 10 of Real Housewives of Potomac, one of the stars will not be returning. This reality star has been a main cast member since Season 6, though she announced on Instagram Monday that she will not only be leaving the show, but leaving the Beltway as well. Her announcement revealed that she and her family will be relocating to Atlanta, though she did not indicate that she will join the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Season 9 wrapped up last month with a three-part reunion special that revealed embattled star Karen Huger was entering a rehab progra m following her DUI conviction. Bravo has yet to announce any new cast members, with Huger sentenced to two years in jail for her fourth DUI offense. Who is this mystery Housewife? It's none other than Mia Thornton, who announced her franchise exit Monday on Instagram. 'With every new season comes a new beginning and I have some news to share. My family and I have made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season,' she said. 'The past four seasons have been an unforgettable journey one filled with growth, lessons, and so many incredible memories,' she added. 'I want to thank Truly Original, Bravo, NBCUniversal, and Andy Cohen for believing in me and giving me the space to share my story,' Mia continued. She also thanked her fellow castmates, 'for the laughs, the lessons, and the unforgettable moments.' 'And to the amazing fans, your love and support has meant everything to me. I'll always carry that with me,' she stated. 'This next chapter is already full of exciting opportunities, and I can't wait to take you all along for the ride. Big things are coming…' she teased. 'I don't just make headlines — I make History. Atlanta, brace yourself. The empire has expanded,' she concluded. Thornton was last seen on the Season 9 reunion when she stormed out after Gizelle Bryant called her a bad mother. 'The past four seasons have been an unforgettable journey one filled with growth, lessons, and so many incredible memories,' she added. Bryant bashed Thornton for subjecting her seven-year-old daughter Julianna to a DNA test to prove whether she was fathered by boyfriend Incognito a.k.a. Inc or her estranged husband Gordon Thornton. 'And I stand by that. No woman, no mother, would put their child on a platform to discuss their paternity. No mother would do that. No mother!" Bryant said of Thornton's actions. Thornton stormed off the stage after Bryant brought up her children, screaming, 'Not my kids!' in what will seemingly be her last appearance on the Bravo franchise. 'I should have never put myself in the position to have anybody question my motherhood,' Mia told a producer before changing and leaving the reunion.
