Dunkin' gives pup cups to dogs at Cranston Animal Shelter

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The Cranston Animal Shelter's adoptable dogs recently received sweet treats from Dunkin'. Dunkin' gave each of the dogs a free pup cup — which is a small cup of whipped cream. The shelter dogs were also given Dunkin'-themed toys, including chewable plushies shaped like doughnuts, beverages and even bacon strips. The idea to do so came from a segment on The Rhode Show last month, in which Cranston Animal Control officer Leanne Garzone and Sgt. Gregg Bruno explained that off-duty officers 'go above and beyond' to acclimate shelter dogs by occasionally bringing them pup cups. Dunkin' is covering adoption fees for Bam-Bam — the only dog at the shelter whose fees aren't already sponsored. Download the and apps to get breaking news and weather alerts. Watch or with the new .
