Mark Hamill Says He's Done With STAR WARS - "There's No way I'm Gonna Appear as a Naked Force Ghost" — GeekTyrant

If you were holding out hope for another Luke Skywalker comeback, Mark Hamill just made it pretty clear… it's time to move on. In a recent interview with ComicBook, the legendary Jedi actor reflected on his legacy in the Star Wars franchise and where he sees his place now… which is firmly in the past. 'I am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called Star Wars 'the most expensive low-budget movie ever made.' 'We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I'm appreciative of that, but I think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.' That's about as definitive as it gets. Hamill is moving on from this franchise, and that's ok. It is time to put a focus on new characters and new stories in aother corners of the galaxy. He also couldn't help but throw in a little humor, saying: 'I disappeared in [The Last Jedi], I left my robes behind. And there's no way I'm gonna appear as a naked force ghost.' While his last major appearance came in 2019's The Rise of Skywalker , where he popped up in full ghostly form, we've seen glimpses of Luke since like in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett thanks to de-aging tech and digital wizardry. But even those appearances seem to be off the table going forward. The Star Wars universe, meanwhile, keeps expanding. Upcoming projects include The Mandalorian and Grogu with Pedro Pascal returning as Din Djarin, and Star Wars: Starfighter , a fresh take on the galaxy's dogfight legacy starring Ryan Gosling.
