Cyclists urged to slow down in London's Royal Parks

The Royal Parks charity has launched a campaign encouraging cyclists to be more considerate and stick to the speed limits in the Considerate Cycling campaign follows several incidents in the parks, the charity said, with the aim to enhance safety and improve the park experience for all campaign also comes after a recent research found almost three-quarters of pedestrians surveyed in London had witnessed or experienced a near miss, or collision, with a Fyans, from the London Cycling Campaign, said: "While cyclists riding too fast are annoying and can undeniably be dangerous, the biggest cause of road danger to anyone inside a Royal Park remains drivers." BST Hyde Park's free Open House set to return with films, music, sports and food

BST Hyde Park's free Open House event is back for 2025. Running for eight days in total, the event will take place across two weeks, from Monday, June 30, to Thursday, July 3, and from Monday, July 7, to Thursday, July 10. The event features a variety of activities and entertainment options for all ages. Organisers promise summer vibes, community spirit, and something for everyone (Image: @sophiajcarey-47) The open-air cinema, presented by British Airways, is set to screen films like The Garfield Movie, Thelma, The Goonies, Wicked Singalong, The Fall Guy, Fly Me to the Moon, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and Dune Part Two. The screenings will take place each evening, with free entry on a first-come-first-served basis. DJ and presenter Kennedy Taylor will kick off the event on the Rainbow Stage on Monday, June 30. South London Samba, a collective of carnival drummers and acrobats, will also perform on the same day. On Thursday, July 10, the popular TV show Brainiac Remixed will take the audience on a journey into the world of science. For sports enthusiasts, Lord's Community Cricket and Park Sports Tennis will offer activities each week. The Open House event also includes a variety of street food options, pop-up bars, and live streaming of Wimbledon on a big screen. Families can enjoy a range of activities, including tennis and cricket, among others.
