Unique eatery, the Rumpled Queen, opening in Salem
SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) — A new eatery will open soon in Salem.'The Rumpled Queen' is taking the old DiRenzo's spot on South Broadway Avenue.
Owner Annie Gano describes the establishment as a 'gastro-pub' and will feature American cuisine with a twist. She purchased the property last May and remodeling started in August with some design help from her sister.
'So she and I worked together to kind of execute this dream of like a traditional whimsical feel. That was what our goal was – to have it be something that's unlike anything else really in the area. And then when you add the outdoor area, I think we're gonna kinda blow people away,' Gano said.
Gano says she's been working in the restaurant and dining industry since she was a teenager, adding the menu items are all her own recipes.
The Rumpled Queen will celebrate a grand opening April 17, and as the weather warms up, an outdoor area will open as well.
They are still looking to hire additional employees. Those interested can visit the restaurant's website to apply.
