Pub reopens after a £400K refurbishment and new concept

A pub has reopened following a nearly half-a-million transformation with a new concept. The Sparking Clog reopened on Friday, March 14 with the new "two-door pub" concept, which divides the pub between a bar area and family lounge. The Radcliffe pub closed last month as work began on Monday, February 17. The owners spent £406k on the transformation which includes a central partition to separate the two spaces. Gary Hanmer, general manager of The Sparking Cog, said: "We can't wait to show our wonderful guests the result of our refurbishment. "With the inclusion of new TVs and sports channels, we hope our customers join us to enjoy this year's big summer of sports. "We can't wait to have our loyal customers back!"
