Wi Ha Joon opens up on landing role in ‘Squid Game'; handing fame and more
Actor , who plays the famed detective Jun Ho in 'The Squid Game ', opened up about the show as the final season wrapped up on June 27. The actor, along with fellow cast members, shared the behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the show, and even talked about how he ended up getting cast as the popular character! He revealed that he had to stop exercise and weight training to fit the role. He revealed, 'For the first time in a year and a half, I stopped weight training. My arms were too bulky, and it didn't suit the role.' He also revealed that in order to reduce the bulk, he shifted to martial arts and doing more cardio-based exercises. How Wi Ha Joon was cast as 'Detective Jun Ho' As Gyu Young shared how she had to first share a video and was later cast for the walk-in audition, Ha Joon also shared how he landed one of the main characters on the show. He revealed, 'I initially visited the production company just to say hello, and it turned out the role of Jun Ho was the only one still unfilled. They heard my voice and asked me to audition. I thought it would be a casual read-through, but the director and producers were all there. I tend to memorise all my lines before auditions, and luckily, that worked in my favour.' Detective Jun Ho on 'Squid Game's' success Ha Joon also shared how he felt anxious about the show, 'At first, I couldn't enjoy it at all. I was actually really stressed. I hate the feeling of disappointment, so I try not to have expectations." Later on, however, he stated that the feeling had gone away by the time the press conference for season 2 was held. He revealed, 'I enjoyed the event the most in my entire life. I even blew hand kisses.' Park Gyu Young then added to the statement while recalling the event, sharing, 'I thought he was always the type to enjoy things. I was actually nervous, but he helped escort me.'

As the third and final season of the global hit 'The Squid Game' dropped on June 27, it brought on an influx of mixed reactions from the show's fans. While most fans had been looking forward to exploring how the show will wrap, citing the cliffhanger from the season 2 finale, many were left disappointed for a varying number of reasons. As soon as fans finished watching the last season of 'The Squid Game', they took to online social media platforms to share their reactions and opinions about the show. Player 222 (Jun Hee) and Player 456 (Seong Gi Hun ) became the hot topic for discussion this season. Many had been wondering what would happen with Jun Hee and her unborn child. The question was answered when she gave birth to her child with the help of Player 120 (Hyun Ju) and Player 149 (Geum Ja). The scene, however, was the beginning of where the criticism started. The scene was immediately followed by Hyun Ju's death at the hands of the baby's father, Player 333 (Minggyu). Many criticised the lack of female leads in the final ending. Netizens also called out how the show's end was not satisfactory, and that it was entirely focused on the child's life, over all else. One such comment expressing their anger over the plot saying, "Is squid game pro-life? Why is this INFANT treated as more important than these adults? Why is it even allowed to compete. They lost the plot. Worst possible ending imaginable."
