Surprise at the palace: George and Amal Clooney join King Charles for King's Trust Awards reception
George and Amal Clooney made a surprise appearance at a special Buckingham Palace reception for 2025 King's Trust Awards winners.
The event celebrated inspiring young achievers and featured King Charles alongside celebrity attendees, including the Clooneys and The Sugarbabes.
The Amal Clooney Women's Empowerment Award, introduced by the King's Trust in 2019, recognises exceptional young women making a global impact.
On Wednesday, Hollywood and British royalty mingled when George and Amal Clooney made a surprise appearance at Buckingham Palace.
The A-list couple was among the guests at a special reception for the 2025 King's Trust Awards winners. According to the organisation, the awards recognise young people who have improved their chances in life and positively impacted their local community.
In a video posted on the Royal Family Instagram account, King Charles warmly greets and chats with the couple.

The pair is also featured in the group with award winners and fellow supporters, including TV presenter Declan Donnelly, Joseph Fiennes, and members of the pop group The Sugarbabes.

According to the DailyMail, the Amal Clooney Women's Empowerment Award, presented by the Trust in 2019, celebrates the achievements of inspirational female youngsters worldwide.

The couple were also guests at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding in May 2018, where George reportedly showed off his bartending skills at the reception.
