Alamo Fire damages buildings in Grants; fully contained
GRANTS, N.M. (KRQE) – A wildfire burned six structures and eight outbuildings in Grants, according to the New Mexico State Forestry Division.
The Alamo Fire sparked Sunday night in a neighborhood on the east side of Grants and is now fully contained. Winds pushed the fire into a residential area with structures, burning several, along with outbuildings.
Fire in bosque area near Socorro grows to 364 acres
Officials will be managing structural impacts and monitoring for hot spots. GPS will also be performed on the fire to get an accurate acreage total.
