What's the most 'wishlisted' Wisconsin Airbnb? This Frank Lloyd Wright house in Two Rivers
Airbnb has no shortage of interesting properties you can rent to get away from it all. That includes homes made from shipping containers in Indianapolis and a treehouse with a hot tub in North Carolina.
The rental company recently unveiled the properties that were the most wishlisted in each U.S. state. In Alaska, it's a one-bedroom bus. Florida has a converted Chinook helicopter. Kentucky offers a "glamping" experience with a geodesic dome.
But if you're searching for a Wisconsin getaway, Airbnb guests enjoy the historic Still Bend/Frank Lloyd Wright's Schwartz House in Two Rivers.
The famed architect and designer created the Manitowoc County home in 1939 for Bernard and Fern Schwartz.
"Whether it's two days or two weeks, you will experience the genius of Frank Lloyd Wright's vision for American family life," its Airbnb listing said.
For those who just want a glimpse inside, the property also offers tours for the public.
It's been featured in several television shows, including Netflix's "The World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals," and 20 magazines, according to the listing.
Here's what to know about it:
The historic home is located on the East Twin River about one mile from Lake Michigan, its listing says.
The rental can accommodate up to eight guests with four bedrooms, four beds and three bathrooms, according to its Airbnb listing. The home comes equipped with Wi-Fi, a washer, dryer, TV, private backyard, free on-site parking and more.
Since the rental is an "experience living in the space as it might have been in 1940," there is no air conditioning.
"Two Rivers, however, is in northern Wisconsin located on Lake Michigan and is known as "Cool City" because of the microclimate created by the lake that keeps the city about 15 degrees cooler than inland locations," the listing said. "There are fans and screens to create a breeze through the house when it is a little warm. Evenings are always cool in Two Rivers."
It costs about $695 per night to stay at Wisconsin's most wishlisted Airbnb, not including a $75 cleaning fee and a varying Airbnb service fee, depending on length of stay.
You can book a trip at the Still Bend/Frank Lloyd Wright's Schwartz House by going on Airbnb's website or using its app.
