Former WWE Champion Is Willing To Return For Special Reason

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly, real name Barbie Blank, has revealed she is open to making a WWE comeback. She's willing to do so specifically for a "special little run." Her primary motivation is a heartfelt one: for her young children to see her perform in a WWE ring. Speaking on The Wrestling Classic, Kelly Kelly discussed her future in wrestling. When asked about returning full-time, she stated, "Not full-time. I would come back for a special little run or something." She then shared the personal reason driving this potential return. "I've said, my dream is to have my kids watch me one day." Kelly Kelly gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, in September 2023. Kelly first made a name for herself in WWE on the relaunched ECW brand, debuting in 2006 at the young age of 19. She transitioned to the Raw brand in 2008 and became more involved in in-ring competition and various feuds. Her most significant WWE accolade came in June 2011 when she defeated Brie Bella to capture the WWE Divas Championship. This is a title she successfully defended for 104 days. At the time, she cited a neck injury and her aspirations to pursue modeling as reasons for her departure from full-time wrestling. Since then, she has made several sporadic appearances for WWE, notably participating in multiple Women's Royal Rumble matches, always receiving a warm welcome from WWE fans. Her desire for her children to see her wrestle echoes the sentiments of other WWE Superstars like Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, and Jade Cargill. All of these have successfully balanced motherhood with their in-ring careers. Beyond wrestling, Kelly Kelly is now a fashion influencer and has collaborated with Smith Devereux Winery to create her own wine label, B Tasteful. Her comments leave the door open for at least one more memorable WWE appearance. Whether or not she will actually do that remains to be seen. For now, it's a pipedream. Rumor Roundup: WWE fans, Travis Scott flaking, Asuka, AEW injuries, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill. Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt. Rumors for the Day: On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that people within WWE have actually suggested asking fans not to swear during TV shows. He would later add, however, that he doesn't expect it will actually happen. Jonathan Coachman is claiming on Behind the Turnbuckle that he is hearing Travis Scott 'flaked' on doing the tag team match with John Cena at Money in the Bank and he hasn't been training with Booker T. Per Fightful Select, there were creative discussions regarding Asuka at the beginning of the year but that was considered too early and it's still uncertain when she'll be cleared to return. The Observer notes that there are a lot of 'banged up' wrestlers in AEW coming out of Double or Nothing, including both the Young Bucks. PW Insider claims the decision on who should win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Final between Will Ospreay and Hangman Page wasn't finalized until hours before the show. They apparently went back-and-forth on it quite a bit before settling on Page. Fightful adds that the two wrestlers themselves pushed for the other to win. For what it's worth, Mick Foley told The Wrestling Classic that he had a secret meeting with MJF about a retirement match last year that never came to fruition. Foley said he loved the ideas MJF had for what would have been a six-week program.
