Janet Jackson cancels Cincinnati Music Festival show due to 'personal matters'

Janet Jackson will no longer headline Cincinnati Music Festival this July due to "personal matters," the singer announced Thursday. Jackson previously headlined the event in 2022. "To all my Cincinnati Music Festival fans.... I'm so sorry that I won't be able to be with you all in July. Some personal matters have come up and I am unable to attend. I look forward to seeing you all soon," Jackson said in a statement. Following Jackson's departure, Cincinnati Music Festival is working to find her replacement in the lineup. "We just learned that Janet Jackson is unable to perform at the 2025 Cincinnati Music Festival presented by P&G due to personal matters. Festival organizers are working quickly to fill her spot on the lineup," festival organizers said in a statement. The 2025 festival is set to return to Paycor Stadium July 24-26, and will still feature Earth, Wind & Fire, Anthony Hamilton, a special tribute to Frankie Beverly, and more on Friday and Saturday. A celebration of hip-hop concert will also take place at Andrew J. Brady Music Center on Thursday, July 24. Thursday, July 24: A tribute to hip-hop music at Andrew J. Brady Music Center. Artists will be announced at a later date. Friday, July 25: Earth, Wind & Fire, Anthony Hamilton, Jazmine Sullivan, PJ Morton and The Zapp Band with a Tribute to King Records Legacy featuring Dreion. Saturday, July 26: , Lucky Daye, 112, The Bar-Kays and a special tribute to Frankie Beverly, featuring Jubu with guest appearances by Ronald Isley, Joe, After 7, Dave Hollister and Raheem DeVaughn.
