ZP CEO urges restaurants to provide safe drinking water

Mangaluru/ Udupi: Measures should be taken to control infectious diseases by providing safe drinking water and food to customers in hotels, lodges, bars and restaurants, said ZP CEO Anandh K. He spoke while presiding over the District Surveillance Committee meeting held at the Dakshina Kannada ZP. He emphasised the need to periodically test drinking water samples to confirm quality, follow necessary purification protocols, regularly clean public water sources, chlorinate them, and ensure the residual chlorine level with departmental cooperation to control waterborne diseases. Measures should also be taken to prevent migrant workers from contaminating public water sources. Continuous communication with the health department is essential to discuss and decide on the city's cleanliness and the situation and control of potential infectious diseases, he added. Furthermore, vaccination for domestic animals, especially rabies vaccination, should be organised extensively.
