Stranger Things Season 5 release date: It's finally happening. Netflix has officially revealed the release dates for Stranger Things Season 5, and fans don't have to wait much longer. During the 2025 Tudum global fan event, the streamer confirmed that the final season of the hit sci-fi series will be split into three volumes, rolling out between November 2025 and January 2026. A nostalgic teaser trailer, packed with flashbacks to Season 1, also dropped, giving longtime viewers a rush of emotions as Hawkins braces for its last Things Season 5 to stream in three parts this fall
In a move that echoes how other major shows have handled their final chapters (looking at you, Breaking Bad), Stranger Things Season 5 won't be released all at once. Instead, Netflix is going with a three-part rollout to stretch out the suspense. While fans have known for a while that the Duffer Brothers were deep into filming, this is the first real confirmation on how the episodes will actually hit the platform. Expect more build-up, more cliffhangers, and plenty of time to let the chaos sink in between drops.

Netflix also released a short teaser that flashes back to where it all began. Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) is heard telling Will, 'I think about it all the time. The night it came for you. The night when it all began. Everything changed, and we failed. But we need to be ready.' It's clear that Hawkins is preparing for one last fight. The teaser doesn't reveal much in terms of plot, but it sets the tone, loaded with callbacks and emotional moments from previous parts. It's a reminder that this story started with Will disappearing — and it may end with him too.
Is this the true end of the Stranger Things universe?
While Season 5 is being billed as the final season of Stranger Things, it probably won't be the last we see of this world. The Duffer Brothers have long teased a Stranger Things spin-off, and Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) once joked about the idea before realising he might've spoiled something. And let's not forget the fan-favourite Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), who's been the centre of online theories ever since Season 4 ended. Could he somehow return, even as Joseph Quinn balances his new role as the Human Torch in the MCU? We'll have to wait and see — but it's safe to say that the Upside Down isn't done with us yet.
