HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali meets World Triathlon Secretary General
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia for the Third Asian Youth Games (Bahrain 2025), welcomed Antonio Arimany, Secretary General of World Triathlon, in a meeting focused on strengthening Bahrain's role in the sport. During the discussion, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali passed along the greetings of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). Building Stronger Partnerships in Triathlon The meeting centered on ways to enhance cooperation between Bahraini and international federations to further develop triathlon in the Kingdom. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali praised World Triathlon's efforts in supporting national federations and expanding the sport's global reach. He also highlighted Bahrain's growing success in triathlon, thanks to the support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the SCYS. He noted that HH Shaikh Nasser was an early adopter of the sport, taking on its physical challenges long before it gained popularity in the region, with continued backing from HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali reaffirmed the Bahrain Olympic Committee's commitment to working closely with World Triathlon to drive further success and create new initiatives that will help the sport flourish in Bahrain.
