Fuerza Regida's JOP, Gabito Ballesteros & Lupillo Rivera Join ‘Pase a la Fama' TV Show
Fuerza Regida's Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP), Gabito Ballesteros and Lupillo Rivera join the new reality show Pase a la Fama, set to premiere Sunday (June 8) on Telemundo. The three Mexican artists will form part of the music competition series — focused on discovering the next great regional Mexican band — as mentors, where they will guide the contestants before they perform in front of the previously announced judges Ana Bárbara, Adriel Favela and Horacio Palencia. 'We are proud to partner with HYBE Latin America on a multifaceted journey to showcase the importance of music to Latin audiences throughout the U.S.,' Javier Pons, CCO and head of Telemundo Studios, previously said in a press release. 'With Pase a la Fama, music fans will witness firsthand the energy, identity and dreams of this new generation of talented musicians looking to make it in today's highly competitive music industry.' One Direction's ‘Night Changes' Music Video Hits 1 Billion Views on YouTube
1D has hit 1B — again. More than a decade after its release, the music video for One Direction's 'Night Changes' has surpassed a billion views on YouTube, marking the band's fourth visual to reach the milestone. Directed by Ben Winston and posted in November 2014, the 'Night Changes' music video gave fans the chance to experience what it would be like to do something many of them had long dreamed of: go on a date with one (or all) of the members of the band. Shot in a first-person POV, viewers were made to feel like they were sitting down at a fancy restaurant with Zayn Malik, ice skating with Harry Styles, riding shotgun next to Louis Tomlinson, sitting by a cozy fire with Niall Horan and walking around a carnival with Liam Payne. A disgruntled ex dumps spaghetti on Malik's head, Styles injures himself and his love interest in a misguided move on the ice, Tomlinson is pulled over and arrested by a road cop, Horan accidentally sets his sweater sleeve on fire and Payne vomits in his date's hat after getting too dizzy on a spinning fair ride. 'We're only gettin' older, baby/ And I've been thinking about it lately/ Does it ever drive you crazy/ Just how fast the night changes?' the quintet sings in unison as the video's vibes quickly turn from romantic to catastrophic. Released as a single from 1D's fourth studio album, Four, 'Night Changes' is considered a staple in the boy band's catalog. The track reached No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, one of numerous top 40 hits One Direction achieved between the group's debut in 2010 and dissolution in 2016. Following Payne's death last October, many of the guys' songs experienced a streaming boost as grieving Directioners revisited their discography while processing the news — but 'Night Changes' was the song fans flocked to the most. The track's playback saw a 416% increase in the days that followed the 'Strip That Down' singer's fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, re-entering both the Billboard Global Excl. SZA's ‘SOS' Breaks Michael Jackson's Record for Most Weeks at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums
SZA's SOS sails into uncharted waters on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart by becoming the longest-running No. 1 title in the chart's 60-year history. The juggernaut earns the achievement with a 38th nonconsecutive week at No. 1, on the chart dated June 7, breaking its tie with Michael Jackson's Thriller, which set the previous record of 37 weeks in 1983-84. The new title-holder attains its historic week with 47,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the tracking week of May 23-29, according to Luminate, a 2% increase from the prior week. In total, SOS has spent 129 weeks on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and has never fallen outside the top 10. The set opened at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and sparked hit singles such as 'Kill Bill,' which spent a then-record 21 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and 'Snooze,' which spent 13 weeks at No. 2 on the chart. Watch SEVENTEEN Bring the ‘Thunder' to ‘Kelly Clarkson Show' Performance
SEVENTEEN found their way back to The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday (June 4) to perform 'Thunder,' the lead single from their just-released fifth studio album Happy Burstday. The off-site performance takes place in an industrial warehouse, and it starts with THE 8 answering a ringing payphone branded with the logo of The Kelly Clarkson Show. He's then surrounded by his 10 other bandmates — JOSHUA, JUN, HOSHI, WOOZI, MINGYU, DK, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON and DINO — as they quite literally answer the call to give a bombastic performance on Clarkson's daytime talk show. For her introduction, Clarkson called SEVENTEEN 'a K-pop performance powerhouse' — and she's had a front-row seat to this powerhouse before. Back in January 2021, the group hit Clarkson's show for the U.S. debut performance of their 2020 hit single 'Left & Right.' Happy Burstday, which was released last month to celebrate SEVENTEEN's 10th anniversary, includes solo songs from all 13 members for the first time, as well as three group tracks: 'Thunder,' 'HBD' and the Pharrell-produced 'Bad Influence.'
