SAP Labs opens new Devanahalli campus in Bengaluru, India

SAP Labs India, a part of the German software company SAP, has inaugurated its innovation park campus in Devanahalli, Bengaluru. The new facility, part of a phased development, represents a total investment of around $224m. It has a maximum planned capacity of 15,000. Phase two of the project has been approved and is slated for completion by the third quarter of 2028. Spanning around 17ha, the new campus is almost twice the size of SAP's existing Whitefield site in the city. Presently, it houses over 3,200 employees with plans to increase that number to 4,500 over the next few months. SAP's innovation park will function as a premier hub for artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, research, and development in the Asia-Pacific region. It will facilitate global AI roles in product engineering, customer service, and delivery. Additionally, it features AI laboratories, hybrid collaboration areas, startup incubation centres, hackathon spaces, and a customer experience centre. SAP also announced training and academic collaborations alongside the campus launch. It will invest $115,597 through a partnership with EduBridge to train over 400 underserved youth in AI-related roles. Furthermore, it has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras to focus on AI-based brain research. The project plans to use public data for early diagnosis and treatment predictions. With over 17,300 employees, India is one of the largest employee bases for SAP outside Germany.
