Ashley Gold (CSE:ASHL) returned up to 20.2 grams per ton (g/t) of gold in recent channel and grab samples from its Howie project 55 km southeast of Dryden, Ontario.
Assay results, focused on the Katisha zone, 'confirm the significant gold mineralization potential of the project,' according to Monday's news release.
Specifically, results show continuous gold mineralization within a 5-10-metre-wide deformation zone, validating historical channel sampling in 2022 yielding 53 g/t gold, as well as samples reported on Wednesday up to 26 g/t gold, with additional grab samples southeast of the zone yielding anomalous gold worth further exploration.
The company will now focus on 3D induced polarization (IP) surveys to home in on drilling targets to expand known mineralization, including at depth, with permitting for 13 drill holes in place.
The Howie project is geologically similar to Dynasty Gold's adjacent Thundercloud project, whose Pelham deposit houses an estimated 182,000 ounces of gold at 1.37 g/t inferred, as well as numerous projects in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone belt. Leadership insights
'The high-grade assays of up to 20.2 g/t gold from our recent sampling program at the Katisha zone are a testament to the Howie project's potential to host gold mineralization,' Darcy Christian, Ashley Gold's chief executive officer, said in a statement. 'We are excited to advance our exploration with IP surveys and a maiden drilling campaign to further define this promising asset.'
'These results underscore a commitment to strategic exploration activities, with the mechanical stripping at Howie uncovering new zones of surface mineralization which host anomalous and high-grade gold over significant widths,' added Noah Komavli, president of Ashley Gold. 'We will look to build on our exploration success by providing guidance to the markets for a summer program on our portfolio in the coming weeks.' About Ashley Gold
