Brickbat: Father of the Year?
In Texas, the Port Arthur Police Department and Child Protective Services are both investigating a TikTok video showing a man use a child to clean snow off his car. The man can be seen laughing and smiling as he wipes the child—reportedly three months old and heavily bundled up—across his windshield and hood. After the video was posted, officials conducted a welfare check and found the child was unharmed. But Police Chief Tim Duriso still plans to pursue child endangerment charges and called it "a sad situation." The post Brickbat: Father of the Year? appeared first on

Texas man caught on video using three-month-old baby to wipe snow off car, faces possible charges
A 25-year-old man from Port Arthur, Texas, is under police investigation after a viral TikTok video showed him using a three-month-old baby to wipe snow off a car during last week's winter storm. The shocking footage, which has since been deleted, captured the man laughing as he slid the infant across the windshield of a Hyundai Elantra, treating the child as a makeshift snow scraper. Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso confirmed that the incident occurred at the O.W. Collins Elderly Apartments on January 21. 'We confirmed that it was a three-month-old baby,' Duriso said. The man, whose identity has not been released, was reportedly accompanied by two women at the time, one of whom is believed to be the child's mother. 'They checked on the baby. The baby was just fine,' Duriso added, noting that the child remains in the parent's custody. Police are currently reviewing the man's criminal history as they determine whether to file charges. The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office is expected to issue an arrest warrant for child endangerment in the coming week. 'It's a sad situation. I know a lot of people go to social media and they are looking for clicks… but this is not a deal where you should put a baby on the windshield,' Duriso stated. The video has sparked intense debate online, with many users calling for the man to face legal consequences. 'I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this. He should not be allowed near any child,' one commenter wrote. Others expressed shock at how far people will go for social media attention. 'This is horrible, and anybody who thinks this is remotely funny is sick in the head,' another added. However, some online users have speculated that the baby in the video may have been a doll rather than a real child. 'Obviously, he dressed a doll up in baby clothes and did this,' one person claimed. Despite the debate, law enforcement officials have confirmed the baby was real and are taking the case seriously. He used a 3-month-old to wipe snow off his car in a viral TikTok stunt. Now cops are investigating
Texas police are investigating after a man used a three-month-old baby to wipe snow off the windshield of his car in a viral TikTok stunt. The video was taken in Port Arthur, about 90 miles from Houston, after the state was hit by a rare snowstorm earlier this month. In the clip, the man is seen laughing and smiling as he moves the infant back and forth on his windshield to wipe snow off the car. One city attorney told local TV station KFDM he contacted police after watching the clip and becoming enraged. The video has since been taken down. Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso has assigned the case to a patrol lieutenant and detective, he told the outlet. His department made contact with the man in the video and the baby after visiting their apartment for a welfare check. It's routine to get Child Protective Services involved in cases like this, he said. The baby seems to be okay after the incident, but Duriso's department reportedly still wants to pursue a child endangerment charge against the man involved. The department did not publicly identify the man but said he is 25. Two women were with the man when the video was shot, Duriso said, adding that he believes one of them is the baby's mother. 'It's a sad situation,' the chief said. 'I know a lot of people go to social media and they are looking for clicks... but this is not a deal where you should put a baby on the windshield,' Duriso said, according to KBMT. The Independent has contacted the police department for an update on the case.
