What's next for 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' now that Taylor Swift owns her music

What's next for 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' now that Taylor Swift owns her music Taylor Swift shocked the fandom May 30 by not announcing her highly antissssssipated album "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" or debut album, but saying she purchased back all of her music, her films, her album art, unreleased songs and music videos. She also added she will not rerecord her "Reputation" album. Fans have clamored for months for Swift to rerelease her final two albums, most recently at the American Music Awards. In a handwritten letter posted on her website, the singer explained her decision, adding she hadn't rerecorded more than a quarter of "Reputation (Taylor's Version)." "The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it," she wrote. "All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief. To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it." More: Taylor Swift finally sings long awaited 'Reputation' track About 'Reputation' Swift talked about her sixth album in Time Magazine when she was named Person of the Year. 'It's a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure,' Swift told Time magazine during her person of the year interview in 2023. 'I think a lot of people see it and they're just like, sick snakes and strobe lights.' She added that the vault tracks would be "fire." Her letter on May 30 said those vault tracks may still see the light of day if fans are "into the idea." To say they would be is a wild understatement. "If it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have," she wrote. "It will just be a celebration now." What about her debut album? Swift did write that she had rerecorded her entire debut, self-titled album. "I really love how it sounds now," she wrote. "Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-remerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about." Her debut album launched her onto the country music scene in 2006 with hits like "Tim McGraw," "Our Song" and "Teardrops on My Guitar." Over the years of her career, Swift has refined her vocal delivery, so fans have been curious to hear a new version of her first album — and to see how strong her Southern accent is for Round 2. 'Look What You Made Me Do': Swift on owning her masters Swift had been on a mission to reclaim her first six albums since 2018, when her contract with Big Machine Records expired and, she said, the label would not sell her the masters, or original recordings of her songs. Instead, Big Machine sold her self-titled, "Fearless," "Speak Now," "Red," "1989" and "Reputation" albums to private-equity group Ithaca Holdings, owned by Scooter Braun, who has represented stars like Kanye West and Justin Bieber. Swift took the fight back to the recording studio, a suggestion from Kelly Clarkson, to own her art and prevent the old versions from being played on streaming services. In 2019, Braun sold the masters to another company, Shamrock Holdings, for $300 million. Taylor Swift's 'Reputation': All the gossip about Joe Alwyn, Kanye West and Tom Hiddleston Swift announced she purchased her catalog from Shamrock on May 30. Her letter did not include the price, but she indicate the success of her four rerecorded albums and the Eras Tour made the purchase possible. Swift told Time the project of rerecording her albums feels like a mythical quest comparable to Lord of the Rings, the Avengers and Harry Potter. 'I'm collecting horcruxes," she said. "I'm collecting infinity stones. Gandalf's voice is in my head every time I put out a new one. For me, it is a movie now.' The singer signed with Universal's Republic Records in 2018 and made sure under her new deal she owned all her songs. And in 2021, Swift started to rerelease her albums, one-by-one with additional "from the vault" tracks. She released four: April 9, 2021: "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" Nov. 12, 2021: "Red (Taylor's Version)" "Red (Taylor's Version)" July 7, 2023: "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" Oct. 27, 2023: "1989 (Taylor's Version)" Follow Bryan West, the USA TODAY Network's Taylor Swift reporter, on Instagram, TikTok and X as @BryanWestTV.

Tim McGraw Shares Candid Health Update Following Canceled Tour Dates

says he's "getting there" after undergoing several surgeries in less than a year. During a recent interview on The Bobby Bones Show, the "Live Like You Were Dying" singer opened up about some issues with his health recently that led to cancelled concert tours and skipped award shows. In the last "six, eight months," the country crooner has required three back surgeries and double knee replacements, but now, things are looking better as he prepares to get back at it. As the musician gears up for his first concert in nearly a year thanks to his health conundrums, he said he's "getting there" after having "three back surgeries [and] double knee replacements." It all started with a back surgery before kicking off his Standing Room Only Tour on March 14, 2024, which he said "sort of went south on me right at the beginning of the tour." Then, just three weeks in, his "knees went out." He powered through "my knees completely gone and my back gone," ultimately canceling the rest of his 2024 dates to "[go] in and [have] the surgeries done." "I had my knee surgeries done, and then in the process of recovering from my knee surgeries, my back went out again and I had to have another back surgery," he explained. The musician maintained a positive attitude about his multitude of surgical procedures, laughing as he addressed the final surgery of the batch—despite the fact it cost him a big Netflix gig, which is sure to come as disappointing news to his loyal fanbase. He was meant to star as a champion bull rider who "oddly enough had back injuries and wasn't supposed to ride again." Luckily he's "feel[ing] better" now, though "some mornings are better than others."Tim McGraw Shares Candid Health Update Following Canceled Tour Dates first appeared on Parade on May 26, 2025

Tim McGraw reveals how Faith Hill 'saved' his life and transformed his 'wild' ways

Tim McGraw owes his life to wife Faith Hill. During an appearance on the "Tracy Lawrence's Road House" podcast, McGraw, 58, opened up about his nearly 30-year-long marriage to Hill and explained how she managed to help the country star turn his life around. "I've been lucky. I've been very fortunate. First off, meeting my wife saved my life. I was a wild man," he said. "I was having fun." "She turned my life around. I couldn't have found a better woman. Not only beautiful and talented, but just a good, good person. And then having our daughters," McGraw, who shares Gracie, 27, Maggie, 26, and Audrey, 23, with Hill, added. "It's life-changing. They make you a better person, and they certainly calm the demons in you." "[Fatherhood] changed my perspective. It changed the way I thought about what my future would be. It certainly took me out of myself," said McGraw, who's been sober since 2008 and candidly spoken in the past about how Hill supported him in quitting alcohol. The country music superstars met in 1994 in Nashville. They were both in relationships with other people at the time, and it wasn't until she performed as his opening act on a 1996 tour that they started dating. Looking back on that time, McGraw told People, "We were young and silly and goo-goo-eyed in love." Hill, who was engaged to record producer Scott Hendricks at the time, later opened up about getting together with McGraw, telling the publication, "If someone is going to judge my character because I was engaged to somebody and then I left him for somebody else — 'Oh, OK, now she's a slut and a bad person' — I can't control that. But I wasn't about to let Tim slip through my hands." McGraw, who's been open about his personal struggles throughout the years, once admitted he probably wouldn't be alive had he not crossed paths with his now-wife nearly three decades ago. "I guarantee you, had I not gotten married to Faith at 29 years old, A) I probably would've ran my career into the ground, and B) I would've died already with my career into the ground, one or the other, and it wouldn't have ever been where it's at now," McGraw told Apple Music host Zane Lowe in 2023, via People. Fox News Digital's Stephanie Giang-Paunon contributed to this post.

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Tim McGraw is on the mend after what sounds like a difficult couple of months. The country music star will return to the stage this month for Nashville's Music City Rodeo after a series of surgeries has left him sidelined. Tim went on The Bobby Bones Show and was asked about his health. He said, "Getting there. I had three back surgeries, double knee replacements in the last 6, 8 months." The "Something Like That" singer continued, "I had had a back surgery before tour last year, and that sort of went south on me at the beginning of the tour, and sort of compensating for that my knees went out like three weeks into the tour." He said, "So I had to finish the tour with my knees completely gone and my back gone, and as soon as I got off tour I went in and had the surgeries done. I had my knee surgeries done, and in the process of recovering from my knee surgeries, my back went out again and I had to have another back surgery." He continued to explain that his injuries caused him to pull out of a Netflix series. He was supposed to play a world championship bull rider, who, "oddly enough had back injuries and wasn't supposed to ride again," Tim said. "So anyways, we had to push that off." Tim explained, "I feel better. Some mornings are better than others, but yeah." We hope Tim continues to heal as he returns to the stage next week after almost a year! After the rodeo, he has dates on his schedule throughout the summer and into the fall.
