Dutch Brothers coffee shop approved by Anderson Board of Public Works
ANDERSON — Final approval for the opening of a Dutch Brothers Coffee store has been given by the Anderson Board of Public Works.
The board approved a replat of the Lowe's property on Scatterfield Road for the opening of the Dutch Brothers store on the south side of the parking lot.
Tim Stires, deputy director of the Anderson Municipal Development Department, said the Anderson Board of Zoning Appeals approved a waiver from the placement of sidewalks along Scatterfield Road.
Stires said the Indiana Department of Transportation is conducting a study of the Scatterfield Road corridor.
He said the plans call for the construction of sidewalks and crosswalks along the road to be completed in 2028.
The business would employ 12 people and be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The board also approved three change orders for the White River Interceptor sewer project from Edgewater Park to Scatterfield Road.
The three change orders raised the cost of the project to $3,555,962 and include wetland remediation, a water main relocation and an increase in the cost of material and labor.
The Board of Public Works previously approved a contract in the amount of $2,164,487 with Culy Contracting LLC to relocate water mains at both Athletic and Edgewater parks.
The city received $1.5 million in state READI grant funds for the project.
There are three water lines that run through Athletic Park and Edgewater Park.
OTHER BUSINESS
The board took under advisement two bids for a new outdoor air-cooled liquid chiller for the Anderson City Building.
Resolve Tech LLC of Muncie submitted the low bid of $377,900. Lehman's Mechanical Contractors of Anderson bid $424,000.
