By Aman Shukla Published on May 14, 2025, 17:07 IST Deadliest Catch has captivated audiences for two decades with its gripping portrayal of crab fishermen battling the treacherous Bering Sea. As fans eagerly await Season 21, speculation is rife about the release date, returning cast, and potential plot details. Deadliest Catch Season 21 Release Date Speculation As of May 2025, Discovery Channel has not announced an official release date for Deadliest Catch Season 21. However, based on the show's historical release patterns, we can make educated guesses. The series typically premieres new seasons between April and July, with Season 20 having debuted on June 11, 2024. Following this trend, reports suggest Season 21 could premiere around June 2025, though a later date remains possible depending on production schedules. Deadliest Catch Season 21 Cast: Who's Returning? The core of Deadliest Catch lies in its rugged captains and crew, and Season 21 is expected to feature familiar faces navigating the perilous Alaskan waters. While Discovery has not released an official cast list, the show typically retains its key players unless significant changes are announced. Based on Season 20 and fan speculation, here are the likely returning cast members: Captain Sig Hansen (F/V Northwestern): A Deadliest Catch veteran, Sig is a fan favorite known for his strategic leadership and dry humor. His return is almost certain, given his central role in the series. Captain Jake Anderson (F/V Saga): Jake's journey from deckhand to captain has been a cornerstone of the show, and his presence in Season 21 is highly anticipated. Captain Keith Colburn (F/V Wizard): Known for his fiery leadership, Keith is likely to return, continuing to helm the Wizard through stormy seas. Captain 'Wild' Bill Wichrowski (F/V Summer Bay): Bill's resilience and mentorship make him a staple, and fans expect to see him back. Captain Johnathan Hillstrand (F/V Time Bandit): While Johnathan has stepped back in past seasons, his occasional returns keep fans hopeful for his involvement. Sophia 'Bob' Nielsen (F/V Victorious): As a newer captain, Bob's leadership in Season 20 earned praise, and her return would add fresh energy to the lineup. As it started going over…I'm going to break my neck: Andrew Flintoff recalls harrowing details of car accident and how cricket helped him

Andrew Flintoff in 2022 met with a horrific accident. The former England cricketer, speaking on the Disney+ documentary, said that playing cricket has helped him to survive the harrowing incident. 'You get 0.4 seconds to make your mind up where the ball's going, what shot are you going to play, how are you going to move your feet,' Flintoff said. 'As it started going over, I looked at the ground and I knew if I get hit on the side, I'm going to break my neck. If I get hit on the temple, I'm dead. My best chance is go face down. I thought my face had come off. I was frightened to death,' he recalled. The 46-year-old has been involved in a high-speed accident since he began as one of the show's co-presenters in 2019. In 2022, he lost control of a motorised trike, the Time Bandit, when racing at 124mph against co-hosts Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness. Flintoff was hospitalized after he suffered facial injuries in an accident while shooting for TV program 'Top Gear' and has kept a low profile for a few years. He was airlifted to the hospital after crashing a car at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome, when he broke ribs and suffered facial and jaw injuries. 'After the accident, I didn't think I had it in me to get through,' Flintoff says. 'This sounds awful, part of me thinks I should have been killed. Part of me thinks I wish I had died. I didn't want to kill myself. I wouldn't mistake the two things. I wasn't wishing, I was thinking: that would have been so much easier. Now I try to take the attitude, the sun will come up tomorrow and my kids will still give me a hug. I feel in a better place now.' Flintoff, who played 79 tests and 141 limited-overs internationals, retired from international cricket in 2009. He was the 2005 Ashes player of the series.
