Last call for entries into Tioga County's ‘I Voted' Sticker Contest
TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Time is running out for young Tioga County residents to submit their entries for the 'I Voted' Sticker Contest. The Tioga County Board of Elections is reminding young artists that the deadline to submit their applications to the contest is May 30. Any young person between the ages of 5 and 18 who resides in Tioga County can participate. Participants are asked to create a unique image or logo for a two-inch sticker that will be distributed at the general election in November, as well as at subsequent elections. Entries must contain the phrase 'I Voted' somewhere in the design. The Tioga County Election Commissioners will select the top three designs from each of the three age groups: 5-9, 10-13, and 14-18. The finalists will be presented to the Tioga County Legislature, which will determine the winners. One winner from each age group will be selected. Winners will be awarded at the Regular Legislative Meeting on July 15. The custom stickers will be handed out to Tioga County voters beginning with the November 4 general election. 'This is a great chance for our kids and teens to share some of their amazing creativity with their community, and also to engage with our electoral process,' said James Wahls, Tioga County Election Commissioner. Tioga County NY to hold 'I Voted' sticker contest
TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WETM) — Young people in Tioga County can help put their artwork on the chests of thousands this election season by participating in the county's first 'I Voted' sticker contest. Tioga County residents ages five to 18 can participate in designing a unique image or logo for a two-inch sticker that'll be distributed throughout the county at the general election in November. The submissions must contain the phrase 'I Voted' somewhere in the design for it to be considered. Participants will be divided into three age groups: five to nine, 10 to 13, and 14 to 18. Three finalists will be chosen from each age group by the Tioga County Election Commissioners. The finalists will be presented to the Tioga County Legislature where one winner will be chosen from each group of finalists. Easter events across the Twin Tiers for 2025 Winners will be awarded at the July 15 regular legislative meeting. The stickers will then be handed out to Tioga County voters on Nov. 4 during the election. Participants are asked to turn in all submissions by May 30, along with the participant's entry form. Forms can be found by contacting the Tioga County Board of Elections at 607-687-8261, emailing votetioga@ or by visiting the board of elections department website for entry forms and rules. The county will be distributing flyers and entry forms electronically to public schools in the county along with youth groups, giving students as many chances to participate as possible.
